that's what Republican senator John McCain would have been if he'd been elected in 2008.

    A stridently ACTIVIST anti-gay President.

Repealing DADT would never even have been discussed, let alone attempted, if he'd become prez..

Unfortunately, the vast majority of his fellow Repubs share his anti-gay agenda.

I am so disappointed with McCain.... kudos to Mullen's and Gates' responses. McCain was the one who wanted to hear from the military and the study before making a decision. Now that he doesn't like what he's hearing he simply wants to brush it aside? The study was not being conducted in secret, he knew the parameters under which it was being executed. If he didn't like them why didn't he say so from the beginning? It appears he had his mind made up about the issue all along.

And seriously? The Commander in Chief and Secretary of Defense are not considered military leaders?

This is YET ANOTHER flip-flop from McCain.
He is the KING of flip-flopping.
