Even before my crush on Mark Spitz there was Don Meredith who gave me a reason to watch Monday Night Football with Dad.

Don....you were my first man-crush. Miss you already!

Don Meridith was truly a class act. The Tom Landry era is dead. And so is the classiness of the Dallas Cowboys. Thanks Jerry Jones.

The only man capable of tempering the laconic acidity of Kosel.
A great player (dumb F*ing SMU for losing their football team...idiots!) in both college and the pro's, and a class act.
    God's speed, Dandy Don!

FYI: After being on probation and on the NCAA's death watch list for years, SMU does have football......and they are in Conference USA, the same one UCF is in.

I saw this headline in the online version of the New York Times this morning. Sad story. Don Meredith will be missed.

I wasn't specific, what I meant about losing their team was that they tarnished a great history with paying their players and getting knocked out of the (1988?) season and having to rebuild from the ground up as a result.

He was old school. Played hard and partied harder!! I use to love him singing "Turn out the lights the parties over" when the games were all but decided!! He will be missed!
