Today Oprah did a show where she looked back on an courageous individual. In 1987 a man in a small town in West Virginia came out as gay and HIV+. The show back in the day was so socking, but not really unexpected. However this sequel to the 1987 show was very positive and showed the growth of knowledge and compassion. Watch it.

I don't need some HIV+ queen on a talk show trying to 'educate' me on AIDS. I already know the facts that's why I'm HIV-.

I'm honest in the fact we don't need some positive queen going on talk shows representing us trying to be a martyr because, let's face it, if he were really educated he wouldn't have HIV. And I'm talking about that black dude on the show today.

whoa fuck you dude...if ya actually watched the fucking program, you would know that that "Queen" you are reffering to got like the "Witch Hunt" treatment in his own town. It was so bad that when he went into a public pool, the towns people fucking evacuated and had to drain it. Uh pretty fucked up if you ask me. And, back in the day, before this knowledge was being dropped on HIV and AIDS, he came out and said something to help educate us so that your ass, and my ass knows enough shit to not get this fucking disease. The funny thing is, even with all this eductaion, prevention talk, and knowledge, people still get it. So maybe yo ass might not need a muthafucking lesson, but we def need to still hear it in the media...thanks.

The thing I don't understand.... is why you are barebacking if you're
'educated?' Unprotected anal sex is considered 'high risk' behavior when it comes to contracting HIV.

    You're HIV-negative because you're lucky- not 'educated.'

There is truth in those words, I having sex at the beginning of the 80s before it ever hit the media, survived all the 80s, and 90s and so the noughties remaining HIV-. Yet I also just for being an out homosexual in the 80s also sufferd and endured the discrimination of being homosexual and peoples fears of AIDS. The moment we got a cold, and I still sometimes get them, we got treated as if we where infected, and I have now lived long enough too see the change. yes I endured the gay plauge.

That's exactly my point, bro. We don't need shiney happy HIV positive gay dudes going around acting like it's ok to have HIV in this day and age like I saw on Oprah yesterday. That isn't what it is to be Gay.

I guess you didn't see the original show was done in 1987, when most didn't have the proper knowledge. The reason they did the show was the guy went to the community pool and they closed it cause they thought people were going to get AIDS through the water. HE WAS A PIONEER. A very brave person to do that back then

i never viewed the original program but he was no pioneer. He was just an infected gay dude who took a swim in a pool and went on a talk show to talk about it. That's it. He is no Rosa Parks or Harvey Milk, good God!
Besides, I am referring to the black guy on the show giving us a bad name. I think we covered this.
