I think I said it before, but that has to be the dumbest campaign. It makes people look like they should be forced to be quiet. It sends no message to the people that need to hear the message. I bet when homophobes see those pictures they think, "Good, keep your mouth shut."

It's to do with the prop8 campaign, maybe suggesting they don't have a voice, but thats nothing than their own state of mind, just as if they can't see the I can in American they are the only ones holding themselves back. Sadly many who would wear the duct tape, would also put it on others to repress from freedom of speech. But thats also the actions of a dictator, campaign about not haveing a say and the minute they are in power, the first thing they restrict is free speech; go figure that one.

It also, in its way, and probably correctly interpreted, is saying that we are shut off from speaking a very basic truth about the central irrationality of keeping people in love apart.

No hate. It shall not be unspoken.

Have to disagree with you on this one. I think it is pretty amazing how a photographer and his partner mounted a campaign of awareness after Prop 8 passed that was much more effective in informing the public than anything done by the well financed HRC that had years of political influence and experience behind them. It is very impressive that the NOH8 Campaign started out as just a small grass roots movement and has grown into something quite large. A very homophobic person is probably not going to come around to accept gay marriage or any gay rights, no matter what the message is or how it is delivered. What we can do, however, is get word out to those people that were on the borderline of gay issues or those that support gay rights but might stay home on election day.
