Pretty bad when he has to run down the street naked to get away from his mother who beats him. She probably beats him because he is gay.

The number alone isn't enough to say she's not "quite right." My mother was one of nine.

Having been a Landlord for Government housing for many years, I've seen many a family like this. An insecure woman with multiple kids, no ability to discipline her children and pop them out year after year and no father, to care or give stability. The poor kids are raised in such confusion that its nearly hopeless for them to rise above the trap their in with such parents. I hope the courts remove them permanently, the boy being pushed down steps tells the story that those kids would be much better off away from her.

So where is the connection that the 9 year old is gay? I just see a
    sick woman abusing her kid.

darn unusual in modern times!! hoping your mother and father had the patience, compassion and income level to properly raise that many children.

sounds like this poor kid's mother did not. why no mention of the father in this link? is he around? was he EVER around??

I did not see anything that said he might be gay. Sounds like he was tired of getting beat and took action. I don't think hitting a misbehaving child with a swtich, cord, belt, or hand a few times is abuse. However, the fact that child ran out into the cold does make it seem like there was some out of the normal spankings going on, or this is not a well adjusted child.

This is horrible ....and so sad ..icon_sad.gif

This has nothing to do with sexual orientation , it is a case of children abuse , and there are too many of them ......icon_sad.gif

A friend of mine works with the DCF , and she told me numerous times : "after so many years being a case worker, i haven't understand yet, why some peoples have children .........you cannot imagine the horrible cases i have seen , why these peoples bother to have any , and then treat them like that "......icon_cry.gif

Modern times? When is having a large family not modern. It sould like this very fertile lady has had manyh childern over her life time as at least one of her kids are grown. The father was not mentioned so i don't think it is right to make assuptions about where he might be.

First mondern times did not begin 40 years ago so your whole permise is flawed. Second according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average family size is currently 3.14 people so obviously there are going to be some families that greatly exceed that mean number. I Don't think it is irresponsible to have a large family if you can support it and there is no evidance saying that the mother was not doing so. Obviously one of her well adjusted childern has be placed in control of the other younger childern. It is still possible that this is just a bad little kid who told a series of lies and fooled people into taking his side after he was punished for something.

You have made several assuptions (I have as well) that are baseless that you can not support and the article did not mention. However there is always two sides to every story.

There are many reason the father was not there so, divorce, death, in Iraq, at work, gravely ill, and so on.

This thread is like a Rorschach blot and what people read into it says more about them than it does about the child.
Especially JP's little gem, the most bizarre example of projecting one's obsessions onto nothing.
