I'm from New York and would welcome any thoughts and ideas where to go this winter time (last week of December). I'm dating this guy I really like and I want to take him to some place special.

He's from the south and needless to say, the cold can get to him but he's getting by. I was thinking Fire Island and I don't mind it being dead, the less people, the romantic it ideally could be. Thought about Provincetown, but I figured New England will be very cold. The less scene the better, I just want to have a nice place that i can spend time with him, just me and him.

A gay friendly place would be best and New England or the Tri-State Area.

Come to Providence! Great city...fantastic restaurants, very historic, Newport is 30 minutes away (mansions, ocean, etc).

    You'll love it.

    P'town would be perfect.
I spent a week there in November '08 with my bf. It was quiet but there were enough shops and restaurants open so we had things to do. Our guesthouse always had a warm fire going and the prople we met were much friendlier than they would have been in July. But there's no scene and it's perfect for couple time.
The Cape in winter has a special stark beauty. But is is cold!
