    F-it, I'll start my own self-congratulatory thread.

This kitteh, I, and the US war on Iraq have something in common today:

    Thankies icon_razz.gif

Alas Hndsm, I am not with feline companionship and have not been so for the past seven years (my last kitty, Klatrepus Umuligus, disappeared and is presumed dead while I was living in the States). The LOLcat was primarily a cute-yet-coy way of saying "it's my birthday!!!" icon_biggrin.gif

    Happy Birthday!

But...have you given any thought to the notion that perhaps Platypus Uglyus left home in search of someone who would just call him "Whiskers" or "Fluffy"?

    re: JPrichva
His name makes more sense in Norwegian ("Climbing Cat Impossible"). He disappeared when he was about twelve years old and under the neglectful care of our tenants (we rented our house out while we were in the States); we weren't informed of his disappearance until our neighbors confronted our renters and learned that he had be gone for about a month.

Given that we live in a semi-rural area with badgers and foxes (which have been to known to kill felines), we suspect that he probably succumbed to one of them.

Of course, the lack of a known corpse has prompted me to have some weird dreams where he reappears. I tend to break down in tears as part of them as I had quite a bit of respect for him.

/tries to think of snappy pick-me-up line

    Oh, my, I'm sorry.

No more cheesy jokes. At least about this.

There's no need to be sorry icon_razz.gif He was a cherished friend and is missed as a friend should / would be.

Unfortunately, the only readily available picture I have of him is when he suffered from a stress-related disorder and lost most of the hair on his sides; I'll look into scanning it.

Mind you, many disliked him as he was a kitty who'd make it clear when he'd had enough petting (usually with a quick bite). I think his bitchy side just gave him character.

...and with that, I'll stop myself from making this any more of a animal-companionship-eugoogily thread icon_surprised.gif
