Anyone know of any "Powerhouse" singers. By that I mean their voices are full of power and simply amazing.

Here's my first one, I've heard this before and just recently discovered again.

That's a little unfair. It's like asking the sushi chef to best the italian cook. it's a different style of singing. This is operatic, Mariah Carey's is more belting/broadway.

Britney spears, as an example, is/was an excellent dancer. As was Ginger Rogers. Different styles.

A close friend of mine is an opera singer, soprano, a simply amazing voice. hearing him sing anything pop, or non operatic, is painful. it becomes opera, which it is not meant to be.

Does celine dion count? I'm not sure if she is pwoerhosue persay, but she has a got some lungs on her.

    Idina Menzel also.

Well I can think of Christina Aguilera. Her voice can blow anyone out the water (chest voice-wise).

As for a guy, there's this guy on Youtube who is a very strong tenor:

I wish I could sing like THAT! 2:47 baby!
