It’s common to read in posts “I only like masculine guys.” and I’m sure a lot of you will say I just use a bar of soap, but I’m more curious about guys who:

    -Style their hair
    -Floss
    -Whiten their teeth
-Shave or trim hair (You pick the area)
    -Pluck their eyebrows
-Apply anti aging lotions, sunscreens, acne cream etc.
-How long does your typical shower last?
    -And anything else I missed…

So how much time do you spend on looking good?

How much time would you spend doing all that if it made you look ten years younger, ten years from now?

I always have to floss my teeth, if there are two things I can't live without before going to bed, it's brushing my teeth and flossing. Oh, and also eating.

On an average day, I spend around 3 minutes styling my hair in the morning. I'm always late for things so I never do a good job with the hair.

I don't do any of the other stuff you mentioned...who plucks their eyebrows!?!

I used to cleanse my face with antibacterial lotion, if that counts? That was during the acne days.

I spend ages in the shower because I love being in the hot water. Once I spent like 40 minutes in there. Plus sometimes I have a little tug whilst I'm in there.

*Isn't masculinity to an extent a social construct? If a man doesn't do any of those things, would it make him more of a man? Similarly, if a man does do all those things, does that make him less masculine? To me, masculinity is more to do with personality and values, rather than how he chooses to groom himself.*

I don't count flossing your teeth, brushing them or taking a shower as grooming since those are basic hygiene things.

I can be in the shower and out the door including eating breakfast and getting my lunch together in like 30 minutes. I take about a five minute shower and don't spend more than 5 minutes on my hair or lotions or whatever. You can look good without being high maintenance. ;)

Prob when you average everything I do every day, the things I do once a week, and the things I do monthly, I'd say it comes out to 20 minutes a day, maybe 30

    I am very low maintenance.

I never style my hair with anything. I might spend 10 seconds by a mirror brushing it back and forth until it falls somewhere I like. I run my hands through it all day so no style would stay. I floss but not as much as I should icon_redface.gif. I don't whiten my teeth, they are white enough thanks to whitening toothpaste. I shave my face once a week (shave once I get too scruffy to stand it). I trim my, well, other things, about every other week (doesn't grow that fast). Only thing I pluck is my unibrow so I don't look like a barbarian and I do that maybe once every other week, takes 2 or 3 minutes to get the few stragglers. I don't use any anti-aging b.s. My shower is about 5-15 minutes depending on how long I want to sit under the hot water and enjoy it.

Like I said, very low maintenance...

-Style their hair - buzzcut so no need (trim about twice a week, 5 mins)
-Floss - a minute before every brushing
-Whiten their teeth - twice a year
-Shave or trim hair (You pick the area) - face (3 mins every 3 days) nether regions (2 mins in shower about once a week)
-Pluck their eyebrows (a minute every 3 days - slight unibrow)
-Apply anti aging lotions, sunscreens, acne cream etc. - anti wrinkle cream around eyes every night, sunscreen every day
-How long does your typical shower last? - 10 mins

I brush my teeth 3 times a day, floss once a day (maybe), buzz my head once a week, buzz my body every other week unless I'm getting some... Then more like once a week, I put on sunscreen every morning. I shower at night for about 15 minutes. 30 mins if I'm really tired.

    Morning:
    Brush my teeth
    Wash my face
    Comb my hair
    Apply deodorant

And, if I care about how I look, I shave (my face). LOL.

I usually take about 30 minutes for proper grooming...

Why sometimes I do this too when I'm feeling flexible.

    -Seldom style my hair...wash-n-go
-Fairly often, but not often enough
-Whiten daily (well, use whitening toothpaste)
-Trim only when a photographer needs me to (some art modeling requires body hair - some doesn't)
    -Shave eyebrows daily...fuck plucking
-Lotion daily...sunscreen often...usually wear Underarmour compression long sleeves (keeps you cool and blocks sun)
    -Shower lasts ~5 minutes tops
    -Nope, that about covered it

    Let's see here -

-Style their hair - not long, just run some styling paste through it - maybe put some anti frizz serum on it first. A minute to two minutes tops.

-Floss - nightly. A couple of minutes.

-Whiten their teeth - No need since I started using the Sonicare with the built in whitening feature.

-Shave or trim hair (You pick the area) - Do the manscaping every week or so. Five minutes?

-Pluck their eyebrows - Had them waxed recently - about fifteen minutes

-Apply anti aging lotions, sunscreens, acne cream etc. - Moisturizer with SPF everyday. A minute or two.

-How long does your typical shower last? - Love long showers - Have to try hard to keep it under ten minutes but I can do it in five if I need to.

Overalll, maybe twenty minutes a day

Brush, floss, shave about 15 minutes.

At least one 15 minute shower a day, two if I work out/bike to work ride home.

once every week or so I drop a lush bath bomb in after a good hard day, like today after snowboarding.

I get my hair cut every 3 weeks or so, trim my beard and run the clippers over any unruly & long eyebrow hairs.

though, if I'm haning with my chimp buddies, it's a whole afternoon of picking bugs out of each other's back hair and flinging poo.

If I'm feeling particularly high maintenance, five minutes. 15 on the one day a week I shave and buzz my hair.

I think I fall under the lines of this with my grooming habits

Honestly takes me an hour to get ready, 30 min shower, the rest 30 to 40 mins usually stays near that hour though

Every other day shaver (mugg only, btw):

    Shave/shower day = 20 min
shower only day = 10 min
