Which plan should I use?

    Hey,

I joined the site because I am interested and determined in improving my body and feeling better about how I look. I also plan on going to college to play D1 soccer and I need a terrific workout plan.

Right now, I have a somewhat slim athletic build (toned, because I play soccer year round). I have read a lot on the forums about general rules for building up muscle mass and tone (building/cutting, eating clean and lots of "good" calories, mix of cardio and strength training).

Basically, I am curious as to which plan I should go with, considering my sport and overall goals.

    I'd like to:
    -Be faster, more explosive
-Bulk up, so as to be able to hold others off the ball (and for my own selfish desires)
-Have more endurance (I run a lot, so this generally isn't my biggest problem)

In summary, I suppose just to get bigger and faster.

So I ask you experienced strength trainers of RJ, which workout plan should I go with?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

If you run as much as it seems you like to, your chances of bulking are nill - regardless of which of program you choose - unless you eat like a pig every chance you get.

Yeah, what Paul said. If you are super active.. make sure you intake tons of calories.

During the winter my miles go way down, so I will try to eat a whole lot more.

Cut down on your miles and work on sprinting and explosive motion. You probably have the cardio more than covered.
I'd look up a 100 m sprinters routine online and try and follow it. See how it works. But in my experience doing sprints at least 2-3 times a week is good. Make sure you're doing sprints w/ enough time between sets so you can really push your muscles to their max. Squat, box jumps, lunges, and a whole other mess of leg work outs you can do. just dont overwork it. Give yourself time to rest. You're still young so it'll be easy to put on 20-30 pounds. I did lol
