I Have The Best Husband, And He The Worst

OK, so I bitch about my hubby here sometimes. Am I not gay? But then he does wonderful things, that shame me for having ever been less than complimentary about him. This is my apology.

Last night we had to attend a gala event (that I referenced in another thread). We knew I needed a new jacket for it, but I kept procrastinating. Everything I already have is too tight, because of my letting myself get fat. I suppose it's a denial thing that I don't wanna buy clothes in my current overweight size.

So he finally drags me into a store on Friday, the day of the event, and makes me buy a jacket off the rack, something I never do. I assure him I have some black slacks to match it. And then he takes me to another store to buy a shirt, bright red in the holiday spirit, something I'd never otherwise wear.

Well, we get back home, and I can't find my black slacks. I still don't know where they went. He's mad as hell at me, I'm refusing to go to the function without black pants, and we're screaming at each other.

So he jumps in the car and goes out to buy me some black slacks by himself, knowing my size. He returns with 2. The first one I try fits perfectly, again off the rack. He then offers me a Christmas novelty tie of his, that matches perfectly with my new red shirt.

So I go to the gala, and everyone compliments my appearance, how perfectly dressed for the occasion I am. In jacket, pants, shirt & tie I didn't even have until just moments before I arrived, thanks to him.

How he puts up with this old queen I'll never know. icon_confused.gif

    Because he loves you, silly.

Now go plan his entire day, then spring it on him as he tries to follow his own schedule. icon_wink.gif

'Tit for tat, butter for fish', Mom used to say, whatever that meant. icon_confused.gif

I have no idea what your mother meant, either. But I do try to reward him for being able to put-up with me, with gifts and vacations and simply making his life easier and more pleasant. At least I hope, until I start acting all gay queeny. icon_sad.gif

You've spoken with him on the phone, you know his irresistible personality (and likewise you guys, as charming on the phone as you are online). He's mine for keeps, if he'll have me, through rough times & good.

And yeah, I think he loves me, as I love him. Though why the hell he would is beyond me. If you believe in Heaven, that alone earns him a Sainthood there.

Ah, another Wilton Manors gala event!

Now what is your purpose in bringing up a thread from 2010? Do you actually keep these things in an indexed archive? How disturbing!

But as I said 4 years ago in my reply to meninlove, I give my husband vacations, along with other stuff, as we all do for our guys. In fact, we're just wrapping up 9 days in Key West. Sunny weather the whole time, absolutely glorious, though a touch humid.

But tonight by coincidence we're having another "gala", since you raised the topic. It's the 19th Anniversary VIP Party for the Bourbon St. Pub Complex in Key West on Duval St. I'm sure lots of RJ guys know it.

It's just about to start. For which Key West casual is the attire, nothing formal needed for this one at the pool out back (actually where we are we could be buck naked).

We know the owner, so we got an invite. Free food & drinks. Wish you were here. icon_wink.gif
