Too bad he got caught, if he received his degree god only knows what he could have become....future president? lol. It also proves anyone can get into Harvard..If you lied just correctly...You know i am really against these type of institutions as all they do is give degrees to pumped up egos carriers who think they are geniuses because they solely attended. Graduate and then get top positions just because they attended. I think it demonstrates how pathetically up their rear ends these institutions are and probably academe in general. However, I won't say good for him as his deceit could have cost other worthy candidates a chance. This young man's success at fraudulence indicates that he is probably smarter than most of the people legitimately admitted to Harvard. He is certainly smarter than most of the Harvard graduates I have known. They tend to be very arrogant people whose egos exceed their ability or willingness to perform. Perhaps Harvard will hire this person to instruct them in how to detect people like him. I once suggested to an administrator at an Ivy League school they try as an experiment admitting candidates by lottery to see how they fared. He said--snidely--because then we'd have to TEACH them. I asked him what he meant. He said that one of the dirty little secrets is that if you admit only the smartest of the smart, you don't really have to teach them--their success is secured by their own intelligence, and Harvard just gives them the bona fides. Dishonest but obviously brainy, Wheeler almost proved his point. I'd love to know what he would have done with his degree if he hadn't been found out!

Snobbery does tend to amongst the elitist Universites and ego does tend to expand heavily....

I know because I attended an IVS for BA in Design and generally everyone came from privileged backgrounds.

    BUT

There are some really genuine folks out there who I believe deserve to go places like Standford, Harvard, Colombia, Oxford.

and they haven't changed in personality....Of course they do have rather high salaried jobs *huff*icon_lol.gif

What guy did was fraud plain and simple. Its easy to lie and pass off, but sooner or later, your credentials will be brought up
