Title says it all. I'm thinking of getting inked and looking for some good design inspiration. I'm leaning towards something on my arm or maybe my chest. What tattoos have you guys gotten, or find really attractive in a man?

Edit: I GET IT. Some people don't like tattoos. I don't care. The point of this thread is for RJ members to share pictures of their tattoos. icon_biggrin.gif

Think of something that has some personal meaning. And don't get any of those stars on your chest, far too common. It's the equivalent today of barbed wire around the bicep. If you are going to get something forever on your body, find something kind of unique.

Celtic designs were always a draw for me. How I made mine unique was to reverse the ink - where it should be open (bare skin) was filled and where it should be filled was left bare. A reverse or negative of the orig.

Why would you want to tarnish this:

Your skin looks fine the way it is.

Don't get a rainbow.. apparently NOM may adopt it and try to change its meaning. And if Maggie Gallagher gets that tattooed on her sexy self, you may have something in common with her..

    Skotlake,

Just wanted to echo some of the sentiment on this thread.

Firstly, you are very attractive as you are and tattoos tend to detract from the hotness of a man( that´s only my opinion).

Secondly, the underlined part makes me worry. Are you getting a tattoo because it is something that you really want or something that you think people will find attractive?

I think you need to answer that honestly.

Got this after I broke up with my ex, and first time I travelled overseas by myself. Sits just above the speedo line and is pretty subtle - parents havn't noticed it and I have had it over 5 years. Like a couple of others I think a tattoo should have meaning - for me it means strength, resilience and being able to move on in a good way! icon_biggrin.gif

These are the best images I can get for now. (It's late and I'm sleepy)

The flowers are all my mother's favorite flowers (Yellow rose, jasmine, everlasting, cherry blossom) :

    165522_1787717292078_1213928977_32081323

Yellow roses/jasmine (incomplete, still needs a lot of retouching/outlining)

    165670_1787714131999_1213928977_32081307

Cherry blossom tree/warrior goddess (I see my mother as a warrior; go figure)

    163792_1787383683738_1213928977_32080555

At last, the everlasting flower - the MOST excuse the language -- fucking painful tattoo I had ever gotten. And I am blessed to have some serious hardcore metal music blasting through my ears while getting it.

You can ease your worries. I'd like a tattoo, but as I don't have something specific in mind (an object or phrase), I wanted to see what design-type tattoos people have gotten. (RekindleTheFlame's right-arm tattoo is along the lines of what I'm thinking.)

I came here because a Google image search returns generic results, and I figured that gay men (who have a similar perspective to myself) might have tattoos that are more relevant to my interest.

To all of you wasting your time with questions of why I would want a tattoo . . really? The title of the thread is pretty clear. You have all succeeded at diverting legitimate responses of guys showing off their tattoos in various states of undress. (oops . . did I just say that?)

Now . . does anyone else out there actually have pictures of tattoos they want to share?

I like the tattoo on your right arm, though want something more subtle. I've also thought of an inner bicep tattoo (the everlasting flower). Is it really that painful?

I dont think you're supposed to ask other people for tattos ideas. It's supposed to come from within and represent a part of you.
My advice. If you havent figure out that part yet, dont do it and wait.

I would hope your parents haven't noticed a tattoo there . . lol! Agreed, tattoos need a meaning and purpose. Luckily, I am a very opinionated man, and just need to decide what part of my personality I want to portray through a tattoo.

Yes, at least for me. But then again, if you do a little research on pain tolerance from tattoos, you'll notice that inner bicep is one them because the skin/inner muscle is much more tender. But don't let the pain intimidate you. We all have different pain tolerance/mechanism. icon_biggrin.gif
