I'll admit that I initiated a "missed encounter" once over seeing this hot stud at my local grocer chain last summer. Of course I didn't get a response.

Every now and then I look to see if anyone may have missed me if I know I was out and about....but that's never the case. So I'm good there. *LOL*.

I go there for the same reason I check my losing lottery tickets online.

I keep hoping that someone I dealt with at work and fell in love with will feel the same way about me.

The grocery store? Um, no. sorry. That's loserville. Well, unless it's that incredible produce guy from Longos at Major Mac and Jane!

Sorry about that. Maybe he just hasn't read the section yet. That's what I told myself when I put the ad....eventually it dissipated after the AD disappeared 7 days later. icon_redface.gificon_rolleyes.gif

Earlier this year, I initiated a Missed Connections post to a guy who was in his truck in front of me at a stop light, looked straight back at me and stared. I really didn't know what to make of that. So I did the CL thing, and nothing came of it except for one troll dissing my post.

I did for awhile; I guess it depends on the city you live in, because it's not so fun anymore.
I posted a few time's...some guy's just don't know how hot they are and I like to tell them.
Sadly, I only answered one: "saw you at the gym you were hot".
I had been to the gym that day so...

I posted a Missed Connection once late at night for the host at a restaurant I went to back in Michigan. I had a response from him by the time I woke up the next morning. icon_biggrin.gif He was very nice, but we didn't hit it off.

It's nice to see an example where an actual response from the person you hoped to meet happened. Sorry it didn't work out but at least it gave you a chance to meet.

This is very surprising to me. I have always wondered if they ever work. Looks like sometimes they do! Here's to keeping hope alive! icon_biggrin.gif

My coworkers and I posted a fake missed connection once as a prank on one of our coworker. We went to happy hour once and he met this group of girls. He thought he was the shit because they were feeling up his muscles so he played it down. He just pretended like he didn't care and that it happens all the time. The next day we made a missed connections post and directed him to it. We pretended to be one of the girls and described everything that had happened the night before. We invited him to one of my coworker's apartment with him thinking its was one of the girls. When he knocked on the door we opened it up and busted up laughing. It was hilarious. We spent the rest of the night drinking and laughing about it. For those of you who think this was mean... we pull panks on each other all the time since we are all from the same start class at work and built a very strong bond over 4 years.

Anyways, the more interesting part is that our ad had tons of responses from random creeps who tried to pass off as being our coworker. There were guys who were making up stories that were disturbingly convincing.

I like to read them. Some are traffic related and a real stretch... I'd check my old retail job, though, from time to time...icon_redface.gif

i've posted one or two just for fun knowing chances are slim. they are fun/funny to read sometimes.

this one got read on the radio station here in my city:

"You farted in Kroger yesterday - m4w - houston

You were the tall brunette with the near perfect body that farted in the bread section last night. I was the tall guy next to you that looked over and asked, "was that you?" You quickly replied "wasn't me!" You almost seemed insulted I would ask. As the stink grew you continued to deny your flatulence, but it was evident. I tried to get rid of the stench by waving 2 loafs of Ciabatta bread. You proceeded to storm off in an angry manner. You are beautiful and even if you are a liar and fart like a Clydesdale, I'd love to meet up sometime."

I don't know how real that was though (a google search showed the same posting in Atlanta).

i had a posting for me one time...i think. the place, location, what i was wearing, what i was doing, and my ethnicity was spot on.....but i couldn't remember who the guy was/looked like so i didn't respond. oh well...that was my missed connection missed opportunity.

it's also fun when you do come across one and it's not aimed at you but you know who it was for because you were there. (the smoothie factory guy i go to was in one).

I posted one once and actually got a reply back. Not from the guy I was posting about but someone else who was equally as good looking and very nice. We are still good friends to this day.

Most of the time I just scan through them when I have nothing else going on.
