    Can you guess?
    It's a whopper.
And a lot of people still believe it...

Did they fool you with this lie?
    Or did you know better?

http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2010/dec/16/lie-year-government-takeover-health-care/We asked incoming House Speaker John Boehner's office why Republican leaders repeat the phrase when it has repeatedly been shown to be incorrect. Michael Steel, Boehner's spokesman, replied, "We believe that the job-killing ObamaCare law will result in a government takeover of health care. That's why we have pledged to repeal it, and replace it with common-sense reforms that actually lower costs.”

    As circular as they come.

One would wish it were truer. We like the middlemen too much. The government has already taken over half of healthcare, but we don't get the bang for the buck that we should be having, like other countries.

Politifact shows it was merely a shill for the Obama campaign:

YourName2000 saidRiddler calling someone else a shill, lol. Priceless, lol.

Which I suppose by your logic should make it particularly relevant, lol. And excellent, you're back. How I've missed your drunken barely coherent rantings. icon_wink.gif

heureux_l_homme saidNot surprised at all. Disinformation is a Right Wing specialty.

Consider all the cash dumped into...

    -Glenn Beck
    -Rush Limbug
    -Sarah Palin
    -Sean Hannity
    -Right wing christian preachers
    -corporate owned Republicans
    -conservative 'think' tanks
    -Faux News
-and the rest of the Right Wing Noise Machine.

If it wasn't about the money for these guys...they'd lead some type of revolution. Instead, they sit back and drive the RWNJs further into insanity.

The cash dumped into the above is in spite of the attempts of establishment media networks to quash them. It's not about the money as to why these guys are successful - it's the need.

The formation of Politifact and organizations like them are an attempt by liberal media firms to regain momentum... it's too bad history and the facts are not on their side.

The only "need" for these guys....is from industries whose business interests are odds with the public good.

NYT times exposes several corrupt professors....only after repeated requests under The Freedom of Information Act. They are paid handsomely to for "industry friendly" research...which is cited and repeated over and over by the Limbaughs of the world.

Except for the fact that we've seen that media has been dwindling in its influence over time and there's considerably more choice in this little thing called the Internet. Also you seem to confuse cause and effect. So long as potential conflicts are declared it's not corrupt to accept industry funds as you seem to think. By your argument many of those who have been attacking industry while seeking government funds could also be accused of being corrupt.
