    There's a reason they're called religious "NUTS."
They want our government to be a theocracy, even though it was intentionally founded on the principle that religion had to be separate from government, with the guarantee of freedom of religion.
ALL religions are out of the main stream of beliefs.
They thrive on divisiveness, lies, hatred, hypocrisy, and guilt.
Religion is a private matter, and has no place, what so ever, in our government.

I watched the thing on mute, and then listened to the narrative. All I saw were soldiers, flags, a couple of Washington landmarks, people talking in front of law books, the Berlin Wall. Oh, and some USSR flags and crowds of people doing exercises. icon_razz.gif

The pictures can support almost anything. If I hear the claptrap I would say that Obama was the savior at the end, being compared to Lincoln.

It's actually a call to violence. Once you have convinced the rubes that "liberals" are "evil" "socialists," they're no longer people. So there's no "sin" in murdering them, or using violence against them.

This is what Glenn Beck is doing nearly every night on television and more so on the radio and we've seen what happens. A couple of unhinged people take them at their word and try to kill the employees at the Tides Foundation.

I'm also more then confident that there isn't a whit of truth in the entire "documentary."

Do you watch Glenn Beck's show Christian? How many times a week?

    Hahaha!
All the episodes are the same, SB.

There is no comparing THIS to Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow
and to anything on the left

THIS is all lies and twisted rhetoric
and the closest thing it can be compared to is the Glenn Beckian
chalk board where he talks and tries compare the left to the Nazi's

.................. and in both the presenters are MUCH closer to what's being portrayed than the intended target

Dear liberal.... it's not surprising that you misunderstood my post, as you do many things.

I did NOT compare the video in the OP to Olbermann or Maddow.

    SB -

No. I do not watch Glenn Beck regularly, but clips of his show are widely available, often featured on the Daily Show, Olbermann, Stephanie Miller (talk radio), HuffingtonPost, etc. The man is either a very irresponsible clown, or deeply mentally disturbed. His obsession with George Soros would be laughable if it wasn't dangerous.

And, there is no comparing Glenn Beck to either Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow. Neither of them regularly dehumanize those they are opposed to, nor do they encourage violence against those they disagree with. In Beck's case, he does both.

Tsk tsk tsk Christian.... Basing your opinions on somebody else's opinions.... Thought you were smarter than that.

It's not opinions. It's the audio and videotape of what Beck has said.

How about you deal with the substance instead of flitting around it as usual?

Liberals are Evil because, when they tell the truth, God-fearing Conservatives won’t believe them. Conservatives would rather be blindly mislead by a man of purported moral character, than to hear the truth from an atheist.

Liberals are the only kind of people I know who can mislead simply by telling the truth. They are like great beacons of light, illuminating nothing.

    From PT Article
"Liberals and conservatives are equally intelligent and they have access to the same facts"

This isn't true. Conservatives have been consistently shown to have lower IQs, especially "family values" conservatives. Conservative elites are also considerably less intelligent and educated than liberal elites, though they are still fairly smart.

That and most highly intelligent people are secular.

Brilliant, would you like to cite your sources, and maybe put something besides your location and age in that empty profile. There's a section to tell about yourself. That would be a good place to start and let us know how intelligent you really are.

I think he's referring to this:
http://spq.sagepub.com/content/73/1/33.abstractThe Savanna-IQ Interaction Hypothesis, derived from the Savanna Principle and a theory of the evolution of general intelligence, suggests that more intelligent individuals may be more likely to acquire and espouse evolutionarily novel values and preferences (such as liberalism and atheism and, for men, sexual exclusivity) than less intelligent individuals, but that general intelligence may have no effect on the acquisition and espousal of evolutionarily familiar values (for children, marriage, family, and friends). The analyses of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Study 1) and the General Social Surveys (Study 2) show that adolescent and adult intelligence significantly increases adult liberalism, atheism, and men’s (but not women’s) value on sexual exclusivity.

"Significantly" means 6-11 points of IQ, i.e. it'll net the liberal a small advantage when doing IQ tests.
    http://articles.cnn.com/2010-02-26/health/liberals.atheists.sex.intelligence_1_sexual-behaviors-liberalism-exclusivity?_s=PM:HEALTH
Bailey also said that these preferences may stem from a desire to show superiority or elitism, which also has to do with IQ. In fact, aligning oneself with "unconventional" philosophies such as liberalism or atheism may be "ways to communicate to everyone that you're pretty smart," he said.
    ...
The study found that young adults who said they were "very conservative" had an average adolescent IQ of 95, whereas those who said they were "very liberal" averaged 106.

I dunno, that's a small difference, when compared to my IQ...lolicon_twisted.gif

One factor that might be involved is among young adults the more intelligent ones are more likely to have gone to a university where they were exposed to more liberal viewpoints. Just possible. I know there are some folks who claim universities are politically neutral. lol

Speaking of studies, you might find this interesting:

Oh dear, you are truly naive aren't you....

Do you think it is just a teeney weeney bit possible that the "audio and vidoetape of what Beck has said" could possibly be:

    a) taken out of context

    b) heavily edited

    c) not representative of the show as a whole?

I'm not defending Beck. Nowhere in this thread am I defending him. What I am pointing out is the usual liberal jumping to conclusions and posting of "opinions as fact" by criticizing a show that they do not watch.

You ARE defending him, by suggesting that what he does is parallel to what Olbermann and Maddow do (it is not) and then by suggesting there's some nefarious editing going on or things are "taken out of context."

There are some statements that cannot be "taken out of context."

See, SB, you don't need to watch Fox when there are numerous studies demostrating how they make up facts and that their viewers are misinformed on basic facts, let alone complicated issues.

Now you're just being silly. icon_razz.gif

Not silly, at all. Empirical studies are one of the bases of rational thought. If a study is conducted by a reliable source that demonstrates Glenn Beck is a) crazy and b) a pathological liar, why would I need to watch his show every day to come to the same conclusion? Do you need to see nuclear fusion for yourself? Do you need to see viruses?

See, you and other "independents" think everything is debatable. But it's not. Gravity is not debatable, and neither is the fact that Glenn Beck lies constantly on his show and regularly incites violence.

southbeach1500 saidGlenn Beck is no more crazy than you and the rest of the liberal hens on here.

And... if Glenn Beck "regularly incites violence" he would be in prison by now and out of a job.

So please stop with this nuttiness, or I'm going to start to think you are crazy! icon_wink.gif

First of all, I'm not a "liberal hen" but a Democratic Socialist Cock. So blow me. ;)

Second, I have never claimed any of the following:

    Glenn Beck Quotes

    A) I showed you, as the Roman Empire begins decline, what do they do? They start land grabs and food rations and free food. And then, they change the republic and they don't let people know.

They just change it. They leave all the Senate in and everything, but it's all a scam so people can feel good. That is where we left it. Now, that is what we are doing here. And they are saying to us that state capitalism is where we are headed.

Well, I just showed you that is not state capitalism; it's national socialism. Soon, it will be global socialism. And they can't say "national socialism" now because everybody will freak out. They know what is. That's Mussolini and that's Hitler.

    B) "Oh, by the way, did you hear that we're providing -- we're providing abortions now. The government is paying for abortions, so -- don't we have an executive order saying that we won't do that? Isn't that really weird?" He added: "Congratulations, Joe [Stupak] [sic], think of the number of babies that will be killed with your name. Congratulations, Mr. Stupak, for now having my tax dollars, your tax dollars going to fund the murder of children."

    C) "I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. ... No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out. Is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, 'Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore,' and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, 'Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death.' And you know, well, I'm not sure." –responding to the question "What would people do for $50 million?"

    D) "When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh shut up' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."

    E) "So here you have Barack Obama going in and spending the money on embryonic stem cell research. ... Eugenics. In case you don't know what Eugenics led us to: the Final Solution. A master race! A perfect person. ... The stuff that we are facing is absolutely frightening."

    There's plenty of more... icon_rolleyes.gif
