  Ha! They don't need them to lobby against it. We have a weak government (who is headed by a female who admits she is not religious AT ALL and lives with her male de facto husband....so it's okay for her to get the benefits of having her relationship recognised by law but won't allow same-sex couples to have that same recognition) and an opposition leader who studied to be a priest in his younger years. Neither of these parties wants to piss off the religious groups. We won't get same-sex marriage in Australia in my lifetime.

  I know, right! One of her senior ministers is a lesbian! Like, openly gay. Whenever our Prime Minister is asked why she won't allow same-sex marriage she keeps saying "I don't think society is ready for it". LAME.
