Planning to visit New York for New Years, are there any affordable places to stay, hostels and such that aren't booked out or jacked up prices?

This reminds me of when my cousin in Florida asked in early October if I could find her cheap available hotel rooms in Manhattan for her and her brood of five for Thanksgiving week. I told her yes, absolutely - for 2011.

You have waited quite late to find a place for New Years. Maybe when out at one of the clubs that evening, you should try to hook up with a local and fuck yourself a place to stay.

I have had good luck with the Hampton Inn over in Secaucus, NJ. Easy access into the Port Authority Bus Terminal via New Jersey Transit. There is a bus stop across from the hotel (hotel is in the Harmon Meadows area).

Also, the Hampton Inn situated between the Brooklyn Bridge and South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan is a good choice, but I think for New Year's Eve, you might be a bit late here....

On a future trip to NYC, check either of these out. Prices are good in both areas. And both meet the Turtleneckjock Seal of Approval.

In the past I've stayed at the Jazz Hotel hostel and the Y on northern Broadway, both cheap at the time.

Get a room at the baths?

The HI hostel in NY has beds on January 2 and after. If you can stay up all night January 1, then it works for you.
