Not searching actively, but.... I recently relocated to Charleston, SC after a 19 month stint of unemployment and have been reluctant to meet guys at bars and clubs. It's not like this city really has many to speak of anyway. icon_confused.gif

But besides Craigslist, Match.com/Cupid.com, Adam4Adam, Manhunt, Facebook, Connexion, and the gym... Are there any other ways to meet guys down here?

If you know some nice guys in the Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA area, I'd love to meet them! Personal Introductions seem to almost always work!

    Thanks! icon_cool.gif

My suggestion is to just meet guys in general even if it goes no further than friendship. When you have a group of friends it seems that you'll tend to meet guys through them and, who knows, maybe one will be boyfriend/husband worthy.

Husbands are rather difficult to locate in Charleston. Gay life in Charleston is a rather closed affair, as is much of life for all Charlestonians.

It seems to me you need an invitation to a Spring Social (the gay kind). But they may be crowd of which you would not want to associate.

Yeah, I'm clean, drug free, and usually go for the intellectually stimulating, driven, and guy who's got some common sense too! icon_rolleyes.gif

If there are some gay organizations (workout groups, community volunteers, etc) in the area, that would be a good way for you to meet other people, and maybe.....

From my observations of others over the years and personal experience my conclusion is that the best place to meet a potential partner is at a house party or a friend of a friend. Not so much at a bar or big event.
Can't speak much about on-line.. hasn't been around long enough

I keep imagining "husband material" as something that comes in small drums at homo depot.

I feel your pain. I live in California, the land of plentiful fruits and nuts...and I still can't find a good match!
