What do you do for work? I think your boss won't mind if you call in tomorrow due to BROKEN RIBS!

If I had a boss who made me work with broken ribs, I'd be retiring soon from the settlement.

dave, what the guys above said. I've cracked and bruised them and it fucking hurts - don't fart, sneeze, laugh, cough, strain on the toilet or do anything else that puts pressure on them or you'll go thru the roof. And take the fuckiing rest of the week off, you slipped on management's property, you should be talking to them about their medical plan/ and they should be happy you're just talking to us and not your lawyer....healing is slow and long.

Get better brother, and enjoy a Peaceful Christmas......Keithicon_cool.gif

Really depends on the break and the rib...what ever you do don't laugh.
Broke two of mine (bar fight, fucking drunk frogmen) over a month before I could get back in the pool; three, before I could laugh again.

    Sorry to hear that.
I've read that broken ribs are the worst.
I have no idea how long it takes to be healed.
    Don't cough.
    Don't sneeze.

A few years ago working with Polish soldiers.
They ask me around their tent for a few beers.
(One of the guys stag night) icon_eek.gif My god can these guys drinks.
As the night went on I had to use the loo but found it harder to find icon_eek.gif
In the end I found the bottom of someone trench I was covered in mud but went back to the tent like nothing had happened.( could not let Polish think that British can"t hold their drink. icon_confused.gif The next day found out that I broke my ribs on one side.
Never will i go drinking with Polish again.
you take it easy. if i was in your shoes go sick
( That the lease your company can do for you) I had to carry on working self inflicted Pain icon_redface.gif

I've broken and bruised my ribs skating derby...I was off skates for a month and about 3 months til I was fully healed. I missed one day of work, but my job doesn't require anything that would put strain on my ribs. My advice is: sleep on your stomach (trust me, it hurts worse on your back), and make sure you take a deep breath every few minutes...it will hurt, but it will prevent fluid from settling in your lungs.
