I am frustrated with my IPhone, it's the 3GS and it's slow and buggy. My monthly bill is close 99$.

Anyone have a good experience with another service provider and a different phone that's better than the IPhone?

EVO on Sprint will probably be your best bang for the buck. I know Verizon is running a 69.99 unlimited everything for select locations right now too.

I have a Droid X on Verizon and couldn't be happier.

What do you mean by buggy? Are there specific problem apps, and is the phone jailbroken?

Venture on over to a T-Mobile store and play with a MyTouch4G you will be instantly in love. It's a very nice device. If you want to jump back to a keyboard, the G2 is also great. Both made by HTC. Both current high end Android experiences.

Also, on the fastest 4g network in the country. [Largest too].

Don't forget to mention that extra $10 4G fee. Whether you're in a 4G area or not [and lets face it, with Sprint it's more likely you're not] you still have to pay that extra fee.

With T-mobile, you don't get an extra useless fee and the 4G network is larger and proven faster.

Also, I don't think the iphone is coming to Verizon this year or next year. Verizon is really trying to push their new 4G LTE service. And the only 4G phones will be from HTC and Samsung.. both rockin Android OS.

Just wait a few months. The new iphone 5 is supposed to come out this summer. I heard they fixed the antenna problem this time. icon_lol.gif

Actually, T Mobile keeps touting this as 4g but most critics call it 3.5g. Still not as fast as Sprint, which is saying something since in Chicagoland the best I got was 2 megs dl. But in Tampa it's running a cool 5-7 megs. So, it's kinda still all over the place. Once they get more towers up it'll be pretty solid. I hear Verizon's 4g LTE is probably the best when they get it up and going. Even Sprint acknowledged they may go to this technology eventually. But I do LOVE my Droid (EVO), thinking of trading it for a new one!

    Good luck!

The Samsung Galaxy Series phone are nice little powerhouses. You could also look there. They have a phone on each network to boot.

A recent 3rd party independent study showed T-mobile has the fastest speeds in the top 100 markets in the country. I am looking for the links to the study.

also, it has been determined T-mobiles version of hspa+ is in fact considered 4G as well as Sprints Wimax and Verizons LTE [which weren't truly 4G until now either]

well I was using the 3G and it was jailbroken, after a lot of research (and guess some left over common sense) I decided to just upgrade to the 4g and shut up. I think EVO would be 2nd in line, its too big! I don't want to look shorter than already am, that would also make my chihuhaha smaller too (kiddin).

Sounds like a reasonable decision. The iPhones and apps do not have a reputation of being buggy. When you jailbreak it, all bets are off. As far as slow, if you're referring to the phone, again jailbreaking could be a factor. There could have been memory leaks. As far as the network, AT&T can be ok depending on where you are. I generally have no problems in the LA area. Their 3G is lacking though compared to the others.

its not the phone thats the problem, its the carrier, At&t SUCKS, Verizon has hooked up with apple to offer services as a carrier, also Droid will be a very big contender in the near future, roomer has it that they are working on an app to sync your car with phone so that you'll will be able to open your car door, start your car and receive warnings if someone trying to break into your vehicle.

Jailbraking an iPhone very rarely produces a "buggy" device - I've jailbroken both iterations of the iPhone 3G (didn't get a 4 though) and have never had a problem.
Having said that, Apple's version of multitasking leaves EVERYTHING running as a background process unless you clear it out of the fast-switching pane. So a memory leak is a very real possibility if you don't actually close them.

They promoted it as "multitasking done right" - in all actuality it's pretty broken. I love my iPhone but cannot STAND Apple's homogenous "iPhone experience" - the only thing keeping me from buying a different phone (aside from my contract, lol) is the iPod functionality. Tis why I bought the iPhone in the first place, and I'm reluctant to jump ship because of it. I've had awesome phones with bullsh*t music software and I don't look forward to paying a fortune to get a non-contract phone I may not like, or being stuck on contract with a cheap phone I don't like.

Though, I played around on my buddy's galaxy and it was pretty ballin, lighter than the iPhone and it has a replaceable battery
