Is any amount of indulgence ok?

I've been steadily improving my diet for about 2.5 years now; it's not yet perfect, but is a 100X better than what is once was. I usually treat myself to junk food about twice a week. However, it's Christmas now and I've given into temptation (cookies, cakes, sweets, etc..) almost every day. My question is ‘if I want a six pack, how much control do I need to exercise (pun intended)?’. How strict are all you guys with ripped abs?

Don't deny yourself any foods. Because then the temptation/desire builds up. And when the time comes, you'll give in and start binging. And then you'll try to rationalize your indulgence by saying you'll work out twice as hard to burn it all off.

So go ahead and have your sweets, year round. Moderation is the key. Eat small servings and just be mindful of the total calories you're consuming.

If you cheat on your diet, it might get jealous and slash your tires. icon_razz.gif

I like what I'm reading. Makes me feel a bit less guilty. Plus, I think I do indulge more if I feel guilty.

lol, last year at this time Bill put on 15 lbs without effort. He panicked. I said not to worry. After Christmas and New Year's he went back to his usual regimen (I'm the cook around here) and dropped those lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. We're both pretty active and it took no effort.

    Merry Christmas!
