As some of you know.....I'm not exactly the norm. My subject may apply to you also, but at a different monetary level.

The guy I'm dating knew I wanted a new Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Thery are insanely difficult to find. He wants me to come over to his place at 2 PM to see my Christmas present. He left here around 9 AM to go "pick up something." He claims it cannot be moved and IT IS in the garage.

    Woo Hoo!!

    Am I being whacky?

Rofl, no, you're being child-like, which is completely different from being childish and a million times better and all kinds of wonderful. It means you're not jaded in spirit. Very cool indeed!

Have a Merry Christmas, and tell us what was in the garage!!! icon_wink.gif

    "Am I being whacky?"

No, but given the economic conditions around the country, you might be being a little insensitive.

How bout getting something a bit more practical (Toyota) and donating the rest to charity. Lots of people going without basic necessities this Christmas and you're driving a porshe? I dunno about you, but I would feel rather sick to my stomach thinking about it.

Why should someone work hard to make an excellent living and not get what they want?

He didn't work for it. It's a gift. Nothing wrong with living comfortably. But, there is something innately wrong with people living in extreme excess when others are struggling (especially at Christmas- a time of giving and helping your fellow man).

Sometimes it's worth taking a minute and stepping back from what you want, and evaluating whether that desire will really move your toward being your best self.

ah not this again, i kill myself thinking like this every time i do something nice for myself. i feel guilty every time i buy myself a godiva, drive to gym that's walking distance, eat 3 course meals and waste some of if when i cant finish it, wear nice clothes, go to starbucks, watch movies at AMCs, turn on the heater when it's slightly cold, pretty much every living breath

    Please not today.
