Reducing calf muscles.

I have naturally large calf muscles and these were bulked up in my early teens.

After years of lack of any physical exercise except walking I am wonder what the best way is to reduce them, since they are still pretty big. From what I have read cardio exercise involving a lot of running is the best method and I should avoid cycling.

    Can anyone give advice?

You should make the best out of what you have, not try to get a body type that is not yours.

People pay for calf implants. You should be happy with them. Unless they are ridiculously huge. I've only seen articles about getting them bigger, none so far about getting them smaller.

Enjoy what you have! You'll a much safer little old man because you won't roll over on your lateral side of the ankles. Just keep them stretched by exercising the tibia muscles....standing on your heels is the position, but work them with exercise. It's the opposing muscle group to calves.

@MCH for my build they are, I'm naturally stocky yet I'm more lean stocky and when I was in my teens my thighs and calfs were huge.

I'm not looking to reduce them dramatically, I just want to have them in proportion.

My whole life people have commented on my big calves, and other than being active and delivering newspapers and working at a garden centre, I didn't do anything to build them. I LOVE them! I think big calves on a guy are really hot! Now that I am working out at a gym, I get complemented all the time by hot muscular guys, it is a real conversation starter. I can't imagine doing anything to reduce their size. My advice, enjoy them! icon_biggrin.gif

Big calves are like big biceps - both are so fucking hot!
They're the dynamic duo of "tease" muscles - always "on stage" in t-shirt and shorts, and part of what makes a man's body exceptionally unique and powerful.
    Here's to great calves! Yum!

You know, chicks with her big tits shouldn't cover them up. Its a blessing. Let 'em loose for the world to see.

Guys with large calves can be really sexy. Sounds like everyone else agrees man. Don't be shy about it man. And don't be embarrassed when we stare. Its a compliment lol

If your calves are naturally big to begin with, there's nothing you can do to make them smaller. Running will make them get bigger, just as much as cycling will. Even walking will stimulate your calf muscles. Just work with what you've got. Focus on the rest of your body to even out the proportions.

Big calves = +! If I see a hot guy and then I see he has small calves, I'm turned off easily.

OK. Or, hey, how about cropping the part of the photo with your calves and putting them in public? Seeing as how I can't see your private pics and all.

Oh, and by the way, big calves are awesome. Out of proportion with the rest of your body? I'm sure your body is envious of your calves and it's been trying to convince your overachieving calves that they're the problem. P-shah, I say. It's time for your calves to get the credit they deserve.
