Its an ethical issue for me...i got contacted by a major porn website out there, and i told them id get back with them on an answer. im still thinking about it.

I want to be an accountant (what im majoring in right now in college), and if i did do porn, that might hurt my reputation in the future. And might even screw up any serious potential relationship i might pursue in the future. But i do need the money to pay for school. The price they quoted me would actually be perfect to pay off some student loans for summer courses.

    What do u guys think?

    EDIT:

its a solo...so i wont be involved with anyone else..but still

    I wouldnt do it.

You have too much to lose, and not enough to gain.

Soon, in order to come of age one must do porn. Just look at the hundreds of websites where guys fool around for $20 a cum shot. They rotate more fresh meat than a butcher.

But with the internet it is so easy to find anything out about anyone. I read a blog called Fleshbot. Weekly they post about some minor public figure, like a junior assistant political analyst on MSNBC, who has done porn in the past.

It probably isn't worth it if you think it could hamper your career. But if I ruled the world doing porn would be mandatory.

Sounds like you're fucked either way...

I say don't do it. You would have jumped right into the offer with out hesitation if you really wanted to do porn.

    Keep us posted.

The most difficult thing about making porn is not breaking into gales of uncontrollable laughter.

    As you've already said:

    1) "that might hurt my reputation in the future."

    2) "And might even screw up any serious potential relationship i might pursue in the future."

No amount of money can pay for the complications that can happen when the past catches up on you.

Unless, of course, you feel you really have nothing to lose.

If you're just starting out and breaking into a career
why would you wanna break out into a sweat everytime you go for an interview thinking they saw you whackin' off last night

... I'd leave it as a fantasy and go from there

Considering your future career direction, along with any lingering moral doubts, I wouldn't. Once its done, its done and you never know what will happen 20 years from now when you are being scrutinized by the media or your future high profile employer and this comes up. You should not need to pay off your student loans until after you are done with school anyway.

I agree with the others... don't make a imprudent decision that can affect the long term based on needs at this moment. You might regret it the rest of your life.

I'd say to take their offer as a compliment to your good looks, then walk away with a smile and looking toward a bright future for yourself, knowing that you will not have to worry about being found out. You more than likely will have far more things to regret having done it, than not having done it. You'll do fine without this money, GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!!!

Just remember whatever your decision, the website/company will be in control of your image for all time and you never know where it might end up. It all depends on how comfortable you will be knowing that your image is out there in many forms, even ones you might not even be aware of.

Why mess up a promising career with something that may come to haunt you in the future?

There are less risky ways of earning money.

I am an accountant and I gotta tell you that you have the right of it regarding reputation. If you want to go into public accounting, your better off finding some other way to make money. I agree with the others...don't do it.

Mmm It depends on what you would be doing in the porn? It's accounting that's not really a public job. I guess you have to go with your gut feelings. Porn can be alot of fun you would probably have sex with hot guys that you usually don't attract. I was contacted by tresure Island porn and I thought about doing it but my bf said no way.

I was in a porn before but it was just a speaking role I didn't take my clothes off lol.

You never know what the future may hold and this is something that could come back to haunt you in the future. I actual know someone who did porn and it resulted in a loss of their job when an ex-friend brought it to the attention of his employer.

You could always go with something in the middle of being paid for sex, and doing work to keep your dignity, and take up modelling. It seems like a reasonable medium to me, and I'd do it if I had a model quality body right. If all else fails and you still want to be able to see yourself in the mirror, you can be an extra for movies, shows or commercials. But don't lose your dignity for a few bucks. The porn industry is for some people, but not for everybody, and if anyone likes you for you than they shouldn't look at you any different for choosing not to join the business.

I have a lot of friends who've done porn. Usually they had nothing else going on in their lives, or were between jobs and had to pay the rent. Some of them have responsible, good paying careers now and doing porn didn't hurt their prospects. I am sure they didn't offer that info in their interviews. I doubt the search firms even bothered to look beyond qualifications, experience, and references. I used to be a headhunter and it's something I wouldn't have looked for. But, if you are worried, then don't do it.

I think you should only do porn if you're comfortable with anyone in the future knowing about it. If you have any fears or ambivalence of your boss seeing you in 'Moudi makes a mess' then DON'T DO IT! You used to be able to get away with doing porn in the past when it was highly unlikely that it would fall into the hands of people who weren't actively looking for it. But with the advent of the Internet the concept of privacy has been blown out of the water. More sophisticated visual search engines in the future may be able to match your profile pic with any other pics of you on the net.

That being said, I wonder if eventually porn will be so normalized that it will lose its taboo value and be seen as a legitimate way to make a quick buck - especially for young men. Or it will be laughed off as a crazy thing people do in their youth and not taken seriously at all. Attitudes are changing. Look at Tito Whatever openly dating porn star Jenna Jameson on Celebrity Apprentice. She appeared in one episode and no one batted an eye. We all know Paris Hilton's sex video rocketed her to infamy. Facebook has a private gallery section now where people inexplicably post pix of their dicks and allow complete strangers (otherwise know as Facebook 'friends') to view them.

So who knows? Maybe in the future we'll all be putting 'made 10 scorching bondage videos' in our resumes.

Just the fact that your from Utah is reason enough to do the porn. I think you need porn if your from Utah.

If your splooge vid comes up in a job interview I WILL PAY YOU CASH MONEY to be able to attend (yes I get that it is logistically difficult unless you can get them to send you the questions in advance). It is worth not getting the job just to live through that moment.

Nobody ever asked me to do porn (and no one ever will) but I say do it.

    Ciao
    Terry

p.s. I WANT to have an accountant who does porn. My accountant is a great guy, pillar of the community, runs the NY Marathon, but he just doesn't do porn. I think you get clients this way.
