Just stumbled across one of the coolest internet initiatives I've ever had the pleasure of immersing myself in:

    http://www.zooniverse.org/

The 'Zooniverse' is basically an online hub for an ever-growing number of citizen science projects, ranging from the visual identification and classification of galaxies ('Galaxy Zoo') to the consolidation of decades-old naval weather reports ('Old Weather').

It's totally free to join, and all you need to bring to the table is a bit of your time and a willingness to engage in some real (and fun) scientific investigation.

I could go on, but there's an 'about' section somewhere on the site which explains everything much more succintly than I ever could. Totally worth checking out if you're an astronomy buff! icon_biggrin.gif

hmm... i don't know... gravity is only a theory so i don't see why i should waste any time on astronomy when everyone knows things has because jesus wants them to.

Cool! A similar move to crowdsourcing science -
