I watch a lot of comedy TV series-- from Dick Van Dyke to 30 Rock. I've been into animated shows lately. I've seen most of Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, and Simpsons.

I was just curious what other people thought. You have a favorite? How would you describe the differences in the comedy between your favorites?

The ones you list are great. I also love Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is good too. Adult Swim used to air Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and Sealab 2021, those were awesome. One of my favorites episodes of Sealab was the "Bizzaro" episode where the crew met their bizzaro counter-parts. Quinn's counter-part was some sort of retarded bird-human hybrid that constantly said "Bizzaro, I love you". I know it doesn't sound like it from the way I'm writing it but it was funny, trust me.

Home Movies and Futurama are my two favorites, mainly because their humor is character-driven. South park is great because of the social comentary in the newer seasons.

New favorite -- Archer. Definitely NSFW, and definitely not for kids either.

Ugly Americans is also pretty good.

    - Invader Zim
Because it is relentless about how disgusting and insane modern life can be sometimes while throwing in amusing dark comedy. (grins)

    - Futurama
Anyone who is any kind of sci-fi fan will find many many jokes and I find it has more room to explore comedic ideas compared to say, Simpsons or South Park. (smiles and chuckles)

    - Robot Chicken
Hit or miss. When the comedy hits, the sketch is timeless. I still crack up seeing The Gummy Bear bit. (sudden bursts of laughter)

and really Adult Swim in general.

aside from the ones mentioned, I also enjoyed Life with Louie (it's a cartoon for kids, but I feel the intelligence was lost on them)
