I heard about these bath salts in England a couple of years ago. I guess they now sell it in the U.S. at head shops. It sounds like legalized Ecstasy or Meth. Skirting the law by calling it a bath salt. Does anyone have any experiences or stories about this stuff?

Are you talking about mephedrone? You should probably just avoid it. Just because it is not explicitly illegal in the U.S. and you can still buy it at some head shops or gas stations, doesn't mean it's safe. Don't want to promote drug use, but if you are looking for a high, there are probably safer (somewhat) alternatives out there.

The drug war/s are probably one of the biggest wastes of money that our government participates in. Why can't you educate people about the facts and let them decide what or what not to put in their body? Legalize drugs and make many of them highly controlled substances like many prescribed drugs. Utilize the tax reveune from marijuana sales (along with legalized and cleaned up prostitution) to create treatment centers and real drug education. Real drug education is not "just say no" but dispensing of real information and safety rules for those who are going to use.

Anyway, deciding on a new drug?--I would proceed with caution. Find out everything you possibly can before even thinking about using. As long as a "black market" sells our drugs, they will often not be pure.

thats not why its a waste of money. its a waste of money because some people are alcoholics/addicts and some people aren't and no matter what you say to those people who are - they will use. its just a basic fact of life. its fear, guilt and insecurity. its genetic. its a whole lot of factors and nothing NOTHING no amount of education will stop someone who wants to use from using. its not that the war on drugs is a waste - its not like i think its intentions aren't good - but the sheer intensity of the addict to use will always outweigh whatever consequences - be them jails, institutions or death.

    thats my 2 cents.

You can sit 'neath a tree and smoke a joint reading your favourite book.

Or you can literally chew through your own cheek high on PCP.

Drugs are tools, like religion or government. It is for what you use it for. How you approach it is everything.

I'll try anything once; twice if I like it.

The drug culture has changed so much from 10-15 years ago. I was strung out on heroin through my early/early twenties; I thought that was hardcore. Now people are talking about bath salts? The things people do to catch a buzz...

I'm pretty much a light weight when it comes to actually taking anything. Even alcohol.

My curiosity on these bath salts was peaked because on my flight home from Christmas a couple of days ago I sat next to a young Marine. He told me because it's legal lots of Marines and Army guys are using Bath Salts and Spice (faux pot) in Iraq and Afghanistan on the bases and now they do it here in the U.S. That the young military population including my cute young Marine buddy himself are becoming addicted to this stuff.

He claimed it was as strong as Meth but had even worse side effect and made you even more violent and had a worse come-down. I'm glad to hear all of your input. It sounds like potentially the next huge drug problem. Not only does it have the same addictive active ingredients as meth etc it's also got lots of other toxic crap in it to skirt the FDA.

Keep it coming I'd love to hear more...

People have been getting fucked up for thousands of years. Animals do it too.. jaguars eat this special root, and there are monkeys that piss off centipedes to get fucked up. They found evidence shrooms where around when jesus was.

    Alcohol is a drug.

Theres no reason to do them if you don't want to.. but theres no reason to rip on responsible use.

everything yer saying is fucking dumb. you can be cryptic and poetic or whatever you are doing all you want but i dont think you have any real life experience with drugs so thats cool, im glad. i wouldnt wish that on anyone. but romanticizing drugs is bullshit. drug use gets real ugly. noone approaches heroin bein like yeeaaaaaahhh i cant wait til my veins collapse and i shit my intenstines out cuz i cant get dope and i rob my mom! so no, how you approach it is actually really nothing.

I have a past, like others, that involves drugs. I was the exception though, and I have to remember that. I was doing coke til two in the morning in high school and going in the next day and still getting 90% on my history exam.

I mean to stress only that how you approach something is the best indicator of how successful you are with it. But it was different for me, as it is for everyone; the experiences are absolutely native to their personality types.

But I stress it to this day as well, there is no more direct a route to ruin than drugs. And as you say, no one with any hope for life goes into drugs expecting ruin. I have friends that know ugly and I learn from them, perhaps more so than they learn from themselves.

I have no control over others, I can only give my word and my advice that how you approach something-- if you catch yourself in Lalaland not wanting to leave, you're fucked. Simply fucked. Above all, drugs are powerful, and to understand this is to be have a humility that we don't all have, barely of any of us have, which I think is what you emphasize, and I can respect that totally.

I heard about this Bath Salt thing so I thought I would try it --- Seemed harmless enough. I soaked for hours in the tub but didn't feel a thing --- not even a hint of a buzz... though I did emerge squeaky clean and smelling like Jasmine icon_wink.gif

I've heard the same thing, but will never try it. Not to sound too much like an afterschool special, but drugs are for losers.

Also, if you do drugs, you could turn out like Jessie Spano and look like a total fucking spazz.

Do hugs get Ariodante high? Clearly, only an experiment to test that theory will suffice. icon_biggrin.gif
