You know the slow R&B music that you turn on while having sex or turn on to at night time as bedtime music? It's all gone. =(

It maybe not or in heavy rotation right now popular but it's still found on many R&B radio stations late at night...

I heard this classic the other night!

I think every genre has a rotation in how well it is doing amongst the mainstream audiences.

For example, R&B was pretty big in the 90's and that last until the late 90's and early 00's when Pop really kicked in again with Britney. Mid 2000's hip-hop/rap really took over the charts and then by the end of 2000's, Pop came back in.

I think it'll make a comeback, but just not right now. It's all about dance tunes right now and the producers are having fun with it.

But don't forget, there are still a lot of great R&B albums you can find that have come out recently or this year.

I think there's still some R&B acts that make good slow jamz. But I also think that genre has become less mainstream than it was in the 90's and you have to look a bit harder to find those acts as they don't make it to the mainstream pop charts.

this is a good album for the purposes u describe

stated before, it has become less mainstream. Plus a lot of the artists are looking to make money vs. actual music that means something to them. Afew that haven't fallen off.

Esperanza Spalding (a bit more jazzy, but has a voice like no other)

Janelle Monae (more neo soul I think but it's a genre of R&B)

Cee-Lo Green (helping the world of Mowtown come back)

    Monica

    Jazmine Sullivan

    Miguel (new R&B)

Yes, JOE IS THE SHYT!!! I play his songs on my iPOD all the time.

"All the things your man won't do" was released in 1993, I think. It was a hot jam then. And it remains a hot jam now. I love singing this song, especially when my high notes are working just right icon_smile.gif.

I remember this song taking over the charts:

It was also sad as hell to listen to and I was only 14 at the time.

For those of you whom haven't heard.. Lauryn hill is working on a new album where she sings.. not raps.. Can't wait!

There's debate on this being a leaked song.. Because it's not finished or mastered or anything..

hopefully her little episode of crazy is over with because she has one of the best voices ever..

When you feed the trolls what happens?

Everyone has their opinion.. He doesn't like R&B.. who cares, in my opinion it's his loss..

R&B isn't going anywhere, a lot of artists are coming out with new albums this coming year and some of them are/were mainstream. Just give it some time.

R&B is still here with many gems to be discovered and re-discovered. Some new acts and lots of remixes of classics especially from musicians round the world

The sex-you-up type of R&B is still out there, but under a different name.. Slow Jams.
The mainstream R&B evolved into cheezy hooks and auto-tune.

    Still around and contemporary

Look up Leela James, Jaheim, Tank, Musiq, Trey Songs non singles are alot of slow have sex to jams...and of course...the king of all of it...Mr. Pure voice himself

    LUTHER F'ING VANDROSS

There are still plenty of old school R&Bers just not on the radio...which is actually a good thing...I'm not trying to fuck while driving or working at my desk. The slow jamz sexy music is in the bedroom where it belongs.

This is the reason why people have road rage..

If they WERE to play the sex you up songs on the road.. if someone rear ends your car.. you can then be in the mood to have them rear end YOU.. Just sayin ;)
