I have to say I am absolutely impressed with the new Oprah Winfrey Network...and I think it is going to be a huge success. I particularly like her own "Behind the Scenes of the Oprah Winfrey Show"....I like it more than the "Oprah" show itself!

I wondered if anyone else has tuned in yet and thoughts?

From what I have seen so far, I haven't been too impressed. So far it seems it has been very heavy on 'Oprah Behind The Scenes', so maybe I will have to give the station another chance when it really gets going. As of right now, the only use I see for it is watching on restless nights when I need something to put me to sleep.

I LOVE Oprah... I have set my DVR to record every daily episode of her last season... the one with Streisand where Redford appeared as a surprise guest, was really nice. The best one I've seen so far, however, was Marie Osmond, talking about her son's suicide. My first reaction was that he was a closeted gay man...but "mom" insists he was NOT. And besides, what difference would it make anyway...the poor guy is gone...much too soon!!!
Of course, the most moving part was the song she dedicates to her son at the end of every single live performance that she does...she couldn't even make it thru the song without breaking down.

I don't watch her that often but this is her last year and I heard about all the interesting guests and shows coming on, so I DVR every day, too. I saw the ones you mentioned and also Lisa Presley and Michael Jackson's parents. The two episodes devoted to 200 men who were molested as children was both shocking and truly heartbreaking.

I clicked on OWN today thinking I'd be getting it, since I get so many other channels, but I got a message saying I need to subscribe. I'm not.

Yeah so much for trying to better your physical health. Now you can watch endless shows depicting women's feelings and starving children in countries you'll never care to visit. Oprah's ok. But psychological-help shows are not better than health-help shows.

Not since the UPN launch or the WB's launch, have I been so excited for a network launch!

I thought that I was the only one watching OWN. I like the "Behind the Scenes of the Oprah Winfrey Show". I watched the channel most of New Year's Day, and most of yesterday.

I can't wait to see what it is like once it gets going.

I know I am going to miss the surgeries, mystery diagnoses, hoarders, and 1/2 ton people where they tear down a wall in their house and use a flat bed truck as an ambulance to get them to the hospital.

You should watch Ruby, the reality show about a 500-lb woman trying to lose weight. It's just fantastic for your self esteem.
