sounds like something you have to use carefully - if not used properly it will just bring attention to a large waistline.

Sounds about right. They were all over Italy last summer. Funny thing is the Italian police even wear a white, rock-star belt with their uniforms.

The big question is, were they wearing matching shoes?

I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!! LOL!

I have one in blue already, but I can't ever seem to get it to show, it's always covered by my shirt/top.

Any tips on getting your belt to show in public, and not just when you're putting it on? icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gificon_razz.gificon_wink.gif

Oh - I thought this was going to be about a new geo/demographic trend.

Rather than chasing fashions, I let them come around to me. So far, I've been in synch with fashion for about two weeks - in about 1993.

This is so funny. I noticed that when I wear white slacks or pale blue jeans I never really have the belt that I need. So I was in Express and found the perfect buckle (silver with white inscriptions) and a white belt to go with it. While I am not the least bit heavy (you can see from my pic) I got a 36 because the 34 was so small. Got it home and I needed a 38. Took it back and they didn't have one in that size and I have to go to a different store. No big whup, it's just funny to have that experience and then see this title heading in the same week. LOL!

Quick everyone! Buy your white belt before it becomes passe! It's good for the economy! Then throw them out in a landfill 3 months later with the red shoes, bug eye disco sunglasses, pukka shell necklaces, fauxhawk gel, D&G t-shirts, Diesel jeans, Crocs, teeth jewelry, pink shirts, Ugg boots, skinny jeans, clam diggers...

Personally, I prefer the classic, timeless styles, such as these gentlemen are modeling:

PS Based on the title, I thought this was going to be about gay guys in Minnesota or something.

I always amazes me that people will wear the same thing just to conform. I prefer to make my own style

Wasn't that trend started like two years ago?? At least, that's when I got mine. Wow, I'm inadvertently fashionable again.

I assumed that was the point, to be worn by men who want to say "look how tiny my waist is".

Like all fashion trends, it's happened before (there's only so many colors and types of clothing). The last time I remember, white belts were something big-gutted Midwestern manufacturing executives wore with their Sans-a-Belt polyester slacks while on summer golf outings. Back then, it was: "look how large my prosperous capitalist waist is"

PS Sun: thanks. I live to make people squirt food out their noses. So hot.
PPS JuhJuhJeff: Please, no belts for you. Just very low hanging pants. Or no pants at all.

I'm just glad every guy here in North America hasn't caught onto the Paris trend of wearing super skinny pants that are skin tight. Of course, that only works in Paris because all of the men there have legs with a 10 inch diameter...

Like Zdrew, I thought (the second wave of) white belts had come and gone. When I was a kid, white belts and matching white shoes were de rigueur on the golf course. I cringed when they showed up on emo boys a few years ago, but I haven't seen them nearly as much lately.

    However, this works:

I think we RJers should start a new belt trend.

I'm thinking....a hybrid jelly sandal meets the "gay white belt"...WIDE CLEAR COLORED PLASTIC STRIPS with Aluminium Buckles, I'll call them Jelts! (patent pending)
