For around 10 years now I've made New Year's Day my Official Birthday. It's easier for me to calculate from 1949 and remember, even though my actual biological birthday is still some months away. And that way I get lots of people to celebrate it, even if they don't know what they're celebrating. Plus at my age, do a few months really make any difference?

Queen Elizabeth II does the same thing, having 2 birthdays, as well, I believe so that her official birthday can be celebrated later (in her case) in good weather. I figure what's good enough for the Queen of England is good enough for the Queen of Wilton Manors. icon_rolleyes.gif

In any case, 62 now appears on my RJ profile as of 1-1-11, and I'm sticking to that story. icon_biggrin.gif

Is there a reason that we care about when you celebrate your b'day?

I believe I will start lying about my age.....this year. As a matter of fact, I'm going to take 10 years off it. I am now 37 until 2020.

Whether it's the queen or a queen, don't question it. icon_lol.gif

Care, not the least. Wonder, perhaps. It's been 61 in my profile for a year, and I refer to it in my posts. Now it will be 62. I thought an explanation would be a nice courtesy to our members, as I've done in years past here on this site.

Plus if you know me, as I think you may over these years, my goal has nothing to do with ME. ME is the least of my interests. The US Army beat that out of me over 40 years ago.

Rather, I love satire, and social commentary. If I can use this event for that purpose, or anything else from my life, I will.

Consider that I'm mocking the cult of age, and how silly we can be about it, by my being sillier still. Please do give me credit for having some other focus besides ME. That's not an applicable gay stereotype in this case.

fuck the age, health is what matters
and a capacity to appreciate life and what you've got.

to some degree i wouldn't mind being 85 and enjoy the Queen's lifestyle.
god, never worked a day in her life. ( no, Trouping the Color is NOT work ) .

anyway, enjoy your 62nd BD .

Thank you. I remember this well. The voices you hear singing, as the March Hare and the Mad Hatter, are Jerry Colona and Fred Wynn, respectively.

Ummm... I disagree. Perhaps no world figure works harder than the Queen. For nearly 60 years. Nor anyone who has more knowledge of recent world history & affairs. And her lifestyle is a prison, not a perpetual vacation.

I disagree. I think he should have to fill out the change of b'day form in triplicate, file it for public inspection, and wait 90 days for comments/questions/protests. ... icon_rolleyes.gif

    no questions asked? Srsly?

Slight modification: I am older than Art and could give a damn about it, but what matters THESE days is not so much health as health insurance, without which bankruptcy is the lifestyle of forced choice.

Think of what the House is about to consider and consider asking your Representative to do MORE about health care and not less.

And for those with birthdays this month, have a great day!
