Just wanting to hear from people who have been in similar situations, getting a fissure (tear) through anal sex. I got one in September because no lube was used at the time. It took a very long time to heal because mine was not minor but I'm sure it has healed now, but the area has become way tighter icon_eek.gif from different medications.

Anybody else had a fissure and healed successfully?

Update: the fissure reopened today and bled for the first time since October. Great. Another 3 months of medication and no sex (not that I do hookups).

    sitz baths.

    Stool softner.

    Topical nitrates have a role.

Tap water enemas before a bowel movement can be helpful

    Hi,

I suffered from an anal fissure most likely caused by anal sex for over a year and a half. I'd seen my local doctor who had given me a number of creams to help cure the fissure but nothing seemed to help enough to stop the fissure reoccuring during anal sex.

Recently I was looking for alternative methods of curing a fissure online and found a cream made from wheatgrass sprouts. The marketing for the product says that it helps split lips, anal fissures and any other tear or abrasion of the skin.

After two weeks of using the cream my fissure appears to have healed sufficiently. I had anal sex and the usual pain or tear feeling didnt occur, there was no blood and my anus hasnt hurt and spasmed as it did in the past after sex.

I'd recommend any bottom who is feeling depressed about their inability to have sex to try the wheatgrass cream. And no I dont have any association with the manufacturer, just keen to help my fellow gay bottoms! Might not work for everyone but did work for me.

I see you live in Australia... don't you guys have socialized medical care?

If so, maybe you can get in to get a Lateral internal sphincteronomy done? Apparently this has a really high success rate at healing fissures.

Also, the medications are supposed to be relaxing your sphincter, so you really shouldn't be tighter down there unless its inflamed maybe? I think they prescribe nitroglycerine ointment typically to treat anal fissures, because it relaxes the sphincter.

Anyways, you should talk to your doctor about a sphincteronomy, and let him/her know that it isn't healing very well. I feel like it's kind of unacceptable that they can't fix it when you aren't even having sex to worsen it or anything.
