LEVI JEANS LOVERS: Have you noticed the new fit?

For those of us who buy Levis 505's... the next time you buy some, you'll notice a new "fit". The jeans don't come up quite as far in back, the waist has maybe a tad bit more material and I'm willing to bet they made the waist sizes about half an inch bigger. The skinny 511 jeans or the 550's may not have a difference... I just know the 505's I normally wear do.

I don't mind it, mine still look awesome, but I've heard bitching from a couple of friends who got jeans during Christmas. I assume the company is following the overall trends in jeans these days.

So have you purchased any new Levis and noticed any changes?

I've noticed that the waist sizes are actually 2" larger than what they print on the label. Also the cloth isn't as strong or soft as it used to be.

Well I certainly notice the crazy waist lies when it comes to shorts (from any vendor). Some companies are really ridiculous. 31 inch shorts are sometimes too big... and I should wear a 33 all the time. Just odd.

Trying to make fat people feel better perhaps.

I love Levi jeans. My favorite type is the straight legged boot cut, fits snug in all the right places without feeling too tight. I have a pair which I bought 3 years ago and still hold them as my favorite pair of jeans icon_lol.gif

As Americans in general get fatter, the jeans get bigger. I mean, I am thin but I am not a 29 waist. However, my diesel jeans are. It is a strange phenom.

    That.

I hate how all the clothes now like pants and shorts are actually bigger than they say they are. Even shirts. It means that I used to be a medium, but am now in that awkward small-medium phase. And pants are beginning harder and harder to find good ones that fit well.

And the "relaxed fit" .......sort of like the men's version of "mommy " jeans..........I worked my ass off to get in shape......I don't need "relaxed fit".........And, yes, 33" is more like a 35 or 36......keep on "supersizing it"..........sort of makes you want to say the hell with it, "Yes, I WILL have that second order of curly fries"..... lolz........icon_neutral.gif

I love levi jeans! Basically 90% of my pants are all levis. I only wear 514 and 511 only from levi. I like my jeans to be either slim or straight. I have like some jeans about 3 years old that still looks good and fits! My only other jeans are the ones from pac sun when you buy 2 pairs for $50!

I recently bought some Levis from an outlet in St. Augustine FL and I love the fit and colors they offer now. I'm a new convert because of them. In fact, the pic on my profile that with me in the blk jeans are one of the pairs I bought from the outlet.

Get a pair of 511 skinny jeans Billy, they are not hipster tight like some people assume (those are 510 super skinny's). Levi's is constantly changing the fits of their jeans to appeal to the masses, and unfortunately the masses are on the overweight side. If you find a fit that you like I would advise you to buy a couple of pairs, because six months later the fit will not be the same.

Can't go wrong with the original 501s. They're not too tight like the skinny fits, but at the same time I don't feel or look like I'm wearing parachute pants ("relaxed fit") or bell bottoms ("boot cut"). I bought a new pair of 501's and haven't noticed a real difference in fit from my older pairs.

If I'm going to a club or want to look a little nicer, I go for the 514s. My legs are my best-looking body part, and 514s do wonders for making my legs look damn good. icon_cool.gif Haven't noticed any changes in the 514s either.

Stopped buying Levi's when their quality control went out the window. That is, three pair of identically labeled jeans off the shelf would be three wildly different actual sizes.

Anyway, I hardly ever wear blue jeans any more. No phone pocket, for one thing.

I haven't bought any levi's since 1999.....one is the original 501 button ups and the other one is a straight legged zip fly..

It funny cause its sits high on the hip and even though my waist hasn't changed much it fits rather tight now, which means pretty soon I'll be up a waist size thanks to my body building!! Yay!!
