My sister's my polar opposite - she's been referred to as a miserable cu*t who can suck the life out of a room with her mere presence, we rub each other the wrong way and my annual visits always culminate in some kind of argument which distress my mother.

Last night I had a weird dream where she was doing the dishes in my mother's kitchen, my mother observing, I walked in and tried to help, my sister started arguing with me and I did something totally uncharacteristic - I pantomimed picking up and dialing a phone, placing it to my ear, crooking my neck and then twinkishly shouted into the imaginary receiver "Hey, beeee-yatch!," then held up a block-lettered sign that said "OWNED" while in my deep butch radio voice intonated "You have been owned" at her. I bolted awake before I could dream up their response.

Though I've yet to dream of being chased by carnivorous lolcats I think I've been spending too much time on the forums, though it's nice to be thinking outside the box. Have these forums been good or bad for you?

I enjoy these forums. I initially stumbled upon it while googling about weight-lifting and running. But I find myself reading the non-fitness sections a lot.

For a guy that is still in the process of coming out, I think it's been a good influence. My experience with gay dating thus far has been confusing and frustrating, so I find it reassuring to read that I am not alone and to see how others deal with similar situations.

They've definitely been a good influence. I log on here every day and there's a lot of good advice given. I just wish the search feature was a bit better.

It's something I like to play with; nothing to serious, as it is only the net.

That guy didn't know what to think of a straight talking guy who's wiser and younger than he was.icon_wink.gif Or they are really crazy.

To the OP, it's a good influence. It's interesting reading the different views on topics and seeing the diversity of all the members here.

Plus, the forum has a social networking aspect to it.

I am not sure which point to address or whether I should just answer your final question.

One thought is that you it sounds like you really need to address your sister in a way you REALLY feel like doing, as it sounds like you never say what you really think to her! Right or wrong?

I like this forum. Whether is it is helpful or beneficial or not, who knows... but I think I am spending way more time on this website than I do on any other.

how could they be bad ? by taking too much of your time ? by influencing you to do or say things you never did before ? by changing a perspective ?

besides checking out some body types i could only attain in my dreams and therefore triggering a tiny tiny bit of envy -omg, a deadly sin - they've been a rather positive experience.

Actually, I've tried both tact AND telling her exactly what I thought of her and she was so unapologetic I suppose I dreamed up another tactic which, in a dreamworld, might work. Anyway, I'm just curious as to other people's experiences; as for big sis, she deserves a thread all her own.

For me, it's been a good influence. I really like reading people's thoughts on things. I also get to deal with normally disagreeable people, and approach them in a civilized way without losing my composure. icon_razz.gif

I am seriously addicted to the political threads. I'm not sure what I would do without them.

They are exactly what the user wants them to be....I love a good intelligent debate - they give me that outlet....i love humor - they serve that too, I even get to see that the world still contains the charm free and that ups my tolerance level......all good, all healthy......................Keithicon_wink.gif
