HEALTHY EATING TIPS FOR REAL FITNESS

Forget about strict calorie counting. You are going to be eating nutritious food that nourishes your body and stimulates your metabolism. Eat a good quality protein with each meal. Examples of a good quality protein are beans, lentils, fish (especially oily fish), eggs, seeds, nuts and lean, organic poultry. Eat between 9 & 13 servings of fruit & vegetables each day (1 serving = 1 cup). The majority of these should be vegetables, rather than fruit. Vary the types of vegetables, plenty of different colours and eat what is in season. Eat organic where possible, especially fruit, vegetables and any animal products. However, not all that is labelled organic is healthy! The organic chocolate muffin is still full of sugar and fat. Stay Hydrated. Take your weight in kg and multiply by 31 to give you the ideal ml of water per day. The majority should be as pure water, but herbal teas also count. Don’t drink too much immediately before or after meals. Eat slowly, and stop before you are full. Three or four meals a day, 3 to 4 hours between each meal. If you are getting hungry between meals then check your meal composition . Sometime thirst is disguised as hunger as a rule, try to avoid snacks and only include them around heavy training sessions: carbohydrate based before training, and protein based after.
