"If a Detroit Muslim put a map on the web w/crosshairs on 20 pols, then 1 of them got shot, where would he be sitting right now? Just asking." - Michael Moore

Makes a lot of sense to me.

Because of the reputation and circumstances, there would normally be more concern. Just like during WWII, Germans were more likely to be suspected and racially/ethnically profiled as were Japanese.

That's just the way it is

Well I do hope he gets a fuck now and then, because he deserves some good ones !!! LOL !!! He sure has done a lot of good, informing the public of a lot of bullshit going on in our country. Where he is just one, we need a thousand more just like him, that's what it took to end the discrimination of the blacks in the south wasn't it ? He's enlightening citizens of what the corps are doing to the middle class and you as well as I need to be glad for his work.

What you're saying, is that prejudice is okay.
Because prejudice has happened before, it's okay now.
    Great.

So, does the fact that gays have been subjected to prejudice before make it okay now too?
Or do you think that it's okay to be prejudiced against some people, but not others?

And, just because something is what "it is" - that doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
    We can make it better.
    Or at least try to.
Rather than just callously accept it and say "that's the way it is".

I harbor no illusion about Michael Moore but his movies to provide an alternative - if at items quite biased - view of things that never get discussed in the so-called "left wing" (actually corporate) media.

Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh "inform the public about" their "own standpoints and political bent" too.
So, I guess that means that Beck and Hannity and Rush take "rag sheet journalism one step higher up the shit pole" too, right?
And they love anyone who thinks they're the "messiah" too, right?
And it loads Beck's and Hannity's and Rush's fat asses with money too, right?

    Only MORE so.

yourname2000 saidI just don't know why people actually take vetteset seriously. Just reading his post, he's as guilty of the bias he tars MM with. Everything VS says in inflammatory and, on this "Gay Fitness Health" site, I've never seen him add anything of value...he trashes other guys, calls us all whores who suck cock for money, left wing idiots, while he hits on any confused teenager in crisis. Why do you give him any quarter at all??? There are a ton of hot 60yos on RJ...and then there's this troll. Go away troll, go away.

60 something's tend to have a lot more self hatred issues about the gay thing.
Maybe that accounts for some of it.

If I had green eyes and green eyed people are statistically more likely to be a terrorist, then yes, green-eyed people, including myself, should be profiled more than other eye-color types.

How's that self-loathing, internalized anti-gay thing workin' for ya?

NOW I get where all of this is coming from. Either you had some alcohol and are now angry about it and taking it out on everyone, or you're going through mood swings because you haven't had any alcohol. Am I right?

I'm often bemused by Michael Moore. This is the stupidest possible debate to have in response to the tragedy.

Thank you for the word of the day:

Bemused: Puzzle, confuse, or bewilder (someone)

And to MM, never been a big fan and in ways I think he twist some fact and can be as histrionic as some of the accused right wing pundits...

I think MM brings up interesting perspectives on problems in society. I like what he does.
