one of my Pet Peeves is the L O U D volume of tv commercials.

i see a "black box" advertised in one of those cut-rate catalogs that is supposed to bring the commercial announcer's voice down to the same audio level as all the other talking....just wondering if it does what is promised?

    anyone have one??

Never heard of them....BUT, I would seriously doubt that they work. I just either hit the mute button or put the DVR on Pause until all of the commercials are finished.
Sometimes, I'll leave the room for 15 or 20 minutes with the show I'm watching on Pause, so that when I come back, I can fast forward all of the commercials until the show is finished.

Most new TV's (newer than 10 years old) have "Auto-Level" in the settings. Check your manual or just fiddle around with the Menu selection.
    Try the "Audio" section.
