Do you think Verizon will announce their version on 01/11/2011? Would you make the switch?

I will want to hear how well the Verizon system supports the phone. AT&T has sucked. Also how much it will cost.

Most analysts expect Verizon to sell a CDMA iPhone because that's the technology used for the vast majority of phones on Verizon's network. That means the iPhone would run on Verizon's existing 3G network, rather than on the new faster 4G LTE network that Verizon launched in December..

I wouldn't get it unless US Cellular also gets it, but after owning an iPod Touch for a couple years and now using an HTC Desire Android phone for several months, the iPhone no longer has much appeal. The Desire has an optical trackball, which I really like, and Android app availability is not limited to an app store run by corporate overlords.

Why would you waste money on an iPhone when the HTC Thunderbolt, the LG Revolution and the super powered Motorola Droid Bionic are coming out this spring? All will be superior to the iPhone.

Well I decided not to wait and got the DroidX last week. I figure by the time the wrinkles are all out of the Verizon iPhone, I'll be ready for another upgrade and then we'll reconsider and compare.

Verizon gets the iPhone and there really shouldn't be a mass exodus over to Verizon just yet as anyone who switches for a CDMA iPhone 4 on Verizon's next work isn't the smartest when we know of a 4g LTE iPhone for AT&T and Verizon coming during a normal June release.

As it is, however, Droid still offers better phones currently.

O, and yes the announcement is set for 1/11/11 at 11AM

If it does, I'd still wait until after the summer to ensure that they have all the glitches ironed out.

So you are posting old news about antennagate that Apple fixed? Yes it was a HUGE gaffe on Apple's part, but the iPhone is still a REMARKABLE product grant it the iPhone4 is a little outdated compared to its droid counterparts.

The cycle is the same, this summer iPhone5 will come out and it will be the best phone on the market until a new Droid around November, then January/February. Lul for the next few months and bam another iPhone and then droid etc...

Agreed- I used to be with Verizon and NEVER had problems with them. Then switched over to AT&T because my uncle works for them and have been getting dropped calls ever since. Thinking about switching back, but Verizon only has the 3GS (I heard) and will wait to see how Verizon keeps up with the phone.

    Dave,

Verizon is amazing both Customer Support side and system wide. I have been with them for 7 years and I enjoy calling them when I have a problem. There will be negative reviews as always but a large majority of people are extremely happy with Verizon. We just have to hope the iPhone won't hurt them (which their CEO in 2008 said it wouldn't).

Jaredb, as for iPhone vs. HTC EVO. HTC EVO is a better machine hands down, but this isn't an argument about Apple makes shitty products Droid is better. No this is simply about all those people who prefer the iPhone and are happy to finally see it not on a shitastic network.

The Iphone 4 is coming to Verizon Wireless February 10'th, 2011.

Verizon is now offering their "Smart Phones Talk Free" promotion with their family plans.

As always, Verizon has unlimited data for $29.99.

VZW also has the fastest wireless network with LTE (not running full tilt, but, very fast).

VZW doesn't have all the headaches of ATT, due to better network infrastructure and more roaming agreements.

We always giggle at ATT Iphone customers and their last calls: "You must be using an Iphone?"
