So I believe Pride officially begins tomorrow night--though most of the events are coming up next weekend. Who's planning on going, and what kind of things are good or should be expected? I've never been to NYC Pride, or any other pride event for that matter . . Any stories or things people are looking forward to?

The same goes for me. This will be my first NYC pride and I have mixed feelings going into it. I am hopeful about running into some cool, down to earth, and centered individuals.

Saturday night there is the Victor Calderone party at Studio that I am going to. I am not at all a huge fan of the clubs, not into the drug scene, etc. but what the hell... it should be interesting at the very least.

Any suggestions from the veterans out there?

Well, from the left coast, I went to PDX Pride last night... Maybe I didn't go to the right time & place, but it seemed a lot like any other Saturday night, except there were about twice as many guys as usual at the gay clubs. Oh, and there were a few young guys running around downtown in nothing but their ginch-gooch (sp?) undies. Oh, and one place had some porn star do a j/o show. I didn't need to see that, but I have to admit he WAS a hot dude. Didn't stay for the parade this morning.

Like I say, sign me up for the Lifelong/Sexually Exclusive Relationship float. Put my name down for the Tips on Parenting Seminar. And grab me some brochures from the Evangelical Christian Gay booth. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to NYC Pride too. My first as well. I'm going to run in their Pride Race through Central Park on Sat:

I haven't planned where to go on Sat and Sun nights. I probably won't the pier dance on Sun. I'm going to bug some other friends this week and see what they recommend. I'll post what I decide on if anyone else is interested.

Thanks Skotlake for posting this topic!

Hi Guys! I'm an NYC Pride veteran and I DO have a few recommendations:
    * for a Friday night cheese-fest: the madonna-thon at 1984 in the east village for some fun dancing
*saturday morning the pride run in central park -- possibly the most painful 5 miles i run all year, but totally worth it -- see ya there treader!
    * sunday: swing by the parade and then the pier dance.
the pier dance is totally fun: hot, sweaty, sexy guys everywhere and a special guest star (J-Lo last year) and then fireworks to top it off.
then monday -- national gay shame day. it's the day you feel ashamed of all the dirty things you did during pride!
    have fun guys ;)
