I do have to say there are a lot of sexy guys on RJ, with a lot of muscle and quite fit. Im curious though describe the beginning, when you first started how much you weighed and your first experiences in the gym! and how long it took to get to where you are.

For me i come from as a distance runner, I was a vegan, pale, looked like a kenyan. lol. I weighed about 150lbs, I ran 100miles a week and extra cardio. Until a major injury, then I started lifting. I then had to start eating meat, and was it hard. I could not bench press the bar, I started lifting lighter than some ladies. that was last year though, I started around last year in March. Now I weight 190, added good muscle and sadly some fat.... I run every so often, just slow short ones now, its hard not to wanna run long distance again. Even though I added good amount of muscle i still have a longgggg way to go! Now you?!

When I turned 45, 5 years ago, I said to myself, "Alright, what are you going to do with the second half of your life?" One thing was getting fit. After a couple of false starts when the schedule or arrangements got disrupted, I'm been 5x/wk in the gym for the last year and a half. No turning back!

One year and ten months ago, at age 35, I was getting up and ready to get to work, and as usual had a hard time tying my shoes. I could hardly breathe as sitting on the side of the bed I jabbed my foot into the wall and lean forward to get this simple task done.

That was it, at 325 lbs... I cut out pop and fast food right there and then, and asked my brother (a sports major) for at-home workout advice.

A little while later I got me a personal trainer, who helped me shed a total of 134 lbs by approx. December 09. First it was at home, or out and about, later, as I started to develop actual muscle, I joined a gym. It was weird the first couple of times, but I got a lot of encouragement from the staff and regulars there, so it was all fun.

I actually just want to be fit. I'm not too much into a bunch of muscles. Some definition would be nice. I am now taking up yoga and (after 2 decades of absence) competitive swimming.
