so am i to gather deleting negative or derogatory posts are supposed to tell us something.

    Its her facebook page.

Is she supposed to turn control of that over to someone at Daily KOS?

Some spend there whole day to friend her to monitor or try to slip in a nasty comment.

Its really silly. They can post that sort of stuff on there own private blogs.

Hey lets try this, can I post something on Olberman's page and see if it stays up.

Maybe it's just me, but aren't we allowed to have whatever we want on our OWN Facebook page? If someone posted something mean or nasty or untrue about any of YOU on YOUR Facebook page, would you not want to delete it? I don't find this so out of the ordinary. People delete posts from others they don't appreciate all the time. This all sounds more like just another lame lib with too much time on their hands obsessing about "All Things Palin" and blowing it all out of proportion to anyone who will listen. Perhaps the posts deleted were involving strong language or derogatory term of violence or whatever and Sarah is trying to be proactive and keep these off her Facebook in the future. I also tend to think that due to the nature of Sarah Palin's polarizing way that she probably has to keep the posts friendly and positive -- or at least respectful.

Makes me think of countries where the government controls the media, and woe to anyone who criticizes the government. It's meant to give the impression that everything is lovely, and everybody's happy, all the time.

    The issue is motive.

You hate that fact, don't you?

It's so fun watching the Righties squirm these days.

Palin's words in her recent speech that she believes in free and open discourse, except if it's against her apparently. C'mon Palin, it's "spirited debate"

Some people see signs in everything. They have self reinforcing ideas.

Wowy, someone is actually moderating a facebook or myspace page.

My god then someone recorded then posted to the internet.

This is sort of the daily "food for thought" needed by some to sustain there delusions.

See i know "Rules for Radicals" states make them play by there own rules painfully. Nitpick. And to ridicule always.

Saul Alinsky4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."

    5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

Its a facebook page. To compare it to "censorship" is ludicrous.

Post what you want on your own page or blog.

That's exactly what I thought. I've read some of the posts that were removed, and most of them aren't derogatory, many are in thoughtful disagreement with her. They're removing those too.

Editing her facebook page is not the same as me editing mine. Mine's private. Her's is very public; being a political figure and cherishing the sacred liberty of your country as she put it, it does look a little odd, and a little tacky. *coughs*.
But then, liberty considered, she does have the right to control content on HER page.

She should, however, consider that if she wishes to be a public figure, her doings in public (editing her page) are up for public scrutiny.

It's a Facebook page designed for her to talk to her constituents and followers, to advertise her books and TV show, and her on-TV appearances, not a family and friends page.

So you think the majority of quotes if it was open would be just average folks.

It would become a COMMERCIAL for everything and everyone against Palin.

Again, its delusional to think she should keep it open. So 1 or 2 people can spam the whole site.

What public figure leaves theres open. Im curious.

Here's a post 16 minutes ago from someone. Let's see how long it stays.

Kathy Kesslel: If you missed Palin's video here's basically how it went: Victims, victims. Me, me me. Me. Me, me, me me, me. Me, me me. Me, me, me me me, me me, me me me me. Me, me me. Ignorant, anti-semitic reference. Me. Me, me, me me, me. Me, me me me. Me, me me, me me. Me, ...me me me. America. America, me, America. Me, America me, me America. Me.

What continues to amuse me is this obsession liberals have with Sarah Palin. It's borderline obsessive. I can sort of see why they'd want to talk about Palin instead of their abject failures in government. Joe Biden. Need I say more?

I am sure she will be happy you figured it out for her. I suggest you send her a letter immediately.

Because I am sure she was just waiting for her you to define how she should run her facebook page.

By the way send the same note to the democratic underground facebook page, when your done all the other dem/progressive facebook accounts.

    silly goose.

lol, I already said it's her right to edit as she pleases.

It's still worth considering that if Palin espouses true liberty and freedom of speech to its nth degree like Americans do, she should be allowing negative comments on her specifically public website where she advertises being representative of and espousing such idealism.

    This is only logic.
I quite understand her editing. Her page she likely means to be her billboard, and she's taking off what she considers graffiti.

I have no doubt that all politicians, celebrities, or public figures with a public Facebook page have to moderate it to some extent just to keep the atmosphere friendly and positive.

Very true. And she's entitled. She does have to expect critiquing of the censorship though. It's America right? Someone's freedom of speech is being curtailed. You can't have it both ways......or can you? icon_wink.gif

They are free to start their own "WE HATE SARAH PALIN" Facebook page and post until their hearts content, but someone who becomes a friend of Sarah Palin so they can post on her wall for the sole purpose of insulting and degrading her is inappropriate, like acting up in someone's house, and they should be removed. I would do the same thing if someone posted something hateful and mean on my wall.
