I'll support raising taxes if it means bulldozing shady 50s shacks next to douche bag hipster buildings to make way for an awesome skyscraper monorail that cuts Beverly Hills in half. icon_biggrin.gif

pulling all American troops out of the sand dunes, cutting the dept of defense funding by (at least!) half would be a good start to cutting the debt incurred by EIGHT years of bush & co and two years of the obama administration.

Now hold on there SB, not all Liberals !!!

What do you think of this Idea, I think the government has enough of our money already, except it has become the crooked government of and by the Corporations for which it stands. We need to cut the Corporate welfare subsidies that rob our country.

But first lets start with cutting 50% from the Pentagon as Mch suggested

2nd cut all Corporate welfare subsidies for taking jobs overseas,

3rd cut the billions of dollars going to big oil corps for exploration (they've broken profit records for enough years to pay for exploration)

4th increase Medicare deductions up to $120,000 of income, from the current cap of $98,000. (this will bring about solvency)

5th do away with the IRS, and go to a flat tax system or a federal sales tax of some form

6th end the current Federal Reserve as we know it, the government is being robbed by this system set up by a few Robber Barrons in 1913, Audit them as Ron Paul says !

All of these will save money and head our Government in a more fiscally sound direction.

Now how's that for starters from a LIBERAL ?

    Total BS.

When asked if they support raising taxes JUST ON THE WEALTHY - which is what the Democrats support - 61% OF AMERICANS choose that as the MOST preferable way of lowering the National Debt.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_usa_taxes_poll

Since neither party advocates raising taxes on everyone, the poll you cite is irrelevent BS.
