Do you cut your own hair?

I'm just curious if there are any other RJers out there that cut their own hair. If you just buzz it, give a shout out. If you actually cut it, what's your favorite style? Did you have any good or bad experiences?

    So here's my experience...
I started by shaving my own head 3 years ago. Then, I started playing around until I could actually cut my hair like a pro. I'm pretty good now, but I didn't go without my share of screwups. One time I shaved half of my head and my electric razor died, so now I always have two on hands. I've also cut my knuckles at least 30 times with the scissors.

If you've never cut your own hair, you should try it. You can get a haircut whenever you want for free, so you're always looking sharp. Plus, it feels pretty good when people compliment you and ask who cut it.

Yup, I shave my own head. It's pretty easy. A bathroom mirror and hand mirror is all ya need.

Yes, I've been cutting my own hair for over 45 year years. I also cut my partner's hair, and also my late partner when we were together.

My motivation was that I just got fed up going to barbers in my early teens, telling them what I wanted, and then they'd just fucking go ahead and do what THEY wanted.

Wait a minute... I'm paying you here, and YOU are in charge of how my hair looks?

So I taught myself to cut my own hair. I've taught myself lots of things, and hair cutting was one of the easier. You idiotic barbers wanted to do it your own way, well... you never saw me again. And quite frankly, the haircut I give myself today is better than anything I ever got from any of you. Plus I save us hundreds of dollars every year. Not a bad deal.

I don't really use it. I keep my hair is about 1/8" long. Electric clippers are all I need and my bf to get a clean neckline with a straight edge.

Depends on your hair style, and the length you want. I use a Flowbee on myself, have since the early 1990s. But not on my partner, instead classic electric clippers with him, along with scissors and some other devices.

I like a longer hair style, and my hair is straight, perfect for a Flowbee. My partner likes his very short, closer than the Flowbee can do. There's an old adage that you use the right tool for the right job. And that's what I do when it comes to cutting hair.

I have insanely thick hair, so its easier to buzz it every few days. I would get sick of going in for a haircut every week, and as fast as it grows, it would have to be cut weekly.

N, my bf cuts it because then my hair is the way he likes it and I do pay him , not because he demands me to pay, but because I want to pay him like anyone else deserves to be paid because nobody should be asked to work for nothing.

I did it all the time in college, sometimes it turned out well, other times not so well icon_razz.gif Most of the time it looked like a lawnmower attacked my head.

Since then I've just sucked it up and payed someone else to do it icon_razz.gif

    Nope.

I once had my brother cut my hair with electric clippers. In the middle of the trim, he said, "Oops."
You do NOT want to hear that.
The guard popped off the clippers.
My haircut was much shorter than I wanted.

    Ever since I turned 19.

Boy did I learn the hard way - one time I made a landing strip off center - in the beginning but became so good that I started cutting my buddies' hair as well.

I let a friend cut my hair once. BIG mistake. I ended up having to shave all my hair off.
