Hey guys...I'm thinking about trying out Match.com or Find Fred. Do you have any good recommendations?

    Thanks!

I have heard many people say that website communities vary from city to city. So you might have to try several or specifically search and ask guys from your City on here.

The guys on Real Jock flip my switch as a whole better than any other gay social website.

I tried match and found quality guys - but they all wanted to get married right now and I am not ready for that - so if that is what you want you might try it.

    dating sites *shudders*... *composes self*

have you tried plenty of fish?

I haven't tried match.com. I think find fred is still in its infancy, at least when I was last on there a couple months back... there isn't a huge user base. Goodluck man!

Ok, there's like 10 guys at my gym and if any one of them would date me I think it would be a good match. 10 is just a rounded number, don't take it too literally, lol. Of course what is holding the process back is the question of being gay or not. Many show signs of being gay, like never having a gf or being married, never talking about women, talking sometimes about finding "someone" instead of saying finding a woman, etc.

Dang, the gym would be a great place to meet decent guys if you knew if they were gay or not.

I get checked out at the gym by "straight" guys more then I ever do at a gay bar. What's up with that?

I wouldn't recommend plentyoffish or Find Fred.

Find Fred is pretty new and the website is kind of annoying to use. You could try Chemistry.com or Match.com's gay version if you are looking to pay.

okcupid.com is actually a pretty solid site with decent people.

The best one is the one where you'll find The One!

I think that one on one contact is the best. Be involved in organizations or be visible in places with a strong gay presence. Good luck!

You're right, when the online world is care free and not running around with liars, deceite, and agenda pushing creeps.

Those who say the real world sucks are the ones that sit at home online trying to score some ass behind a facade. Either that or they are just vile and creepy in public. Put yourself out there for people to find you.

    But maybe I'm just old-fashioned...

I will agree that you will probably find the best quality guys in the real world. But everyone's situation is different and some guys just might not have the same opportunities as others.

Give online a try, but at the same time just be open and social in the real world and you could have great luck with that.

fuck you i've been through hell the past 5 years of my life, was abandoned by my family in a hospital and was being sent to a homeless shelter, every person i've had feelings for turned around and treated me like shit including the openly gay ones i've met online. you say i dont have a right to be angry about this shit? dont be so fucking ignorant saying im sitting behind the computer looking for ass when i've consistantly turned those people down in search of real love.

    *edit*

and from a less spontaneous thought, the internet is just a tool for meeting people which is especially useful in such a homophobic society. so don't label people. douchebag.

    Hook-up site...

I made a good friend from there but I equate that to the proverbial needle in haystack of gays. icon_razz.gif

I have never used a dating website, but I might be tempted to join a gay sports group before I did. Are there any gay activity groups near you? I met my last partner at the gym, but it was a friendly chatty gym which are few and far between these days.....

Sadly, there's a pretty small gay community in the Portland, Oregon and SW Washington area. The same dudes on match.com that have puppy dog eyed photos and "watching clouds in the sky" profile are also on manhunt and A4A with entertainingly raunchy profiles that are far from the person they portray on match.com. I guess a fella can be both and that's fine. I was mainly disappointed in the small dating pool around here. Hopefully it's better where you are. Good luck.

    That can sure be arranged.

If you're Canadian and are into Ukrainians, Middle Eastern or Asian guys, that is.
