We all know that Daniel Hernandez probably saved Congresswoman Giffords life but the main stream media has not mentioned the fact that he's gay and from what I understand, Hernandez himself does not want to make a big deal of it.

With respect to him being gay do you:
    A) Think the fact should continue to be absent from the news reports because, after all, it shouldn't matter one way or the other anyway, or
    B) It should be discussed openly and proudly because it would help to dispel the right wing propaganda that all gays are evil and are responsible for bringing about all the worlds ills?

I think to make his sexuality an issue to be discussed in the media is to say that his sexuality IS an issue -- and it isn't, nor should it be. I do not agree with exploiting Daniel's sexuality just to get gays some good p.r.

I have heard it remarked upon a few times, so I don't think it's a secret, or being downplayed so much as just not a key part of a very complicated and evolving story.
