has anyone tried it, read about it, broken through into "space travel"? dimethyltryptamine is a chemical which occurs naturally in the body, and is active in the pineal gland while we dream, during near death experiences, and when we die. This chemical is found in most living things including plants, where it can be extracted, and smoke, eaten, injected, ect. If you have managed to "break through" you see and experience some pretty outstanding things.

Interesting chemical. Rick Strassman is a nice, well-intentioned guy, but don't believe everything he says. DMT is released at birth my left arse-cheek; show me the science! :-) Ditto dreaming.

Plenty of interesting chemicals out there, of which DMT is definitely a strong contender. Better have a good reason to go there, though.

Oh, Erowid's a great resource, don't get me wrong (I've contributed for them for years,) but you have to use your own bullshit filter to sift through the dross.

you bet! I have had my eye on this stuff for many years before I tried. The best thing about dmt is how safe it is (or how safe the dose is). it would be a might challenge to harm yourself with this stuff, except maybe if your smoking it (the smoke can be harsh).
I have not had many chances to try it, one time I did it was quite amazing. I did way more than a first dose should be when I was 15, and I thought I was dead when I left my body. the "trip" itself is as unexplainable as it was geometrical. The only part I remember is a good thousand years spent comparing little round grey stones in a field of grey stones, with some tibetan monk, being totally at peace. At some point I prettty much blinked back down into my body after I got bit by a mosquito.

Well, I've heard that lighter doses are often easier to recall and integrate later. Also, you've probably already heard about using reversible MAOb inhibitors like those in peganum harmala seed powder to lengthen the duration of the experience, again making integration a bit easier. I've read conflicting reports about dose, however. Generally, 3mg of seed powder is sufficient for MAO inhibition, but I've heard of much higher. That's gotta be uncomfortable, though. Also, there has been some positive self-reporting on rectal and sublingual administration of harmala alkaloids which apparently allow for lower doses and reduced body load. Man, sometimes I miss the days when I lived in India and had my own legal natural products isolation and extraction lab--it's not really worth the legal trouble over here.

Addendum: if there are any amateur pharmacologists out there freaking out over my MAOi comments, please delve deep into harmine and harmaline pharmacology first. They do not cause tyramine-induced hypertensive crises or seratonin syndrome.

I think I would be too scared to combine it with any maoi inhibiters, seeing how there is little risk to use the dmt by itself, but with maoi combined, if could be fatal had you eaten certain foods like most berries, red wine, ect.

have you ever been to goa india? any cool beach/forest goatrance parties? I want to go so baaaaaaaad

I'm experienced with nn,DMT, 5MEO-DMT, Ayahuasca, Iboga, LSD, etc. I posted a fairly detailed response on another thread here:
