Hey all, I did a quick google search for volunteering opportunities in San Francisco and about a thousand or so hits pop up. I need help narrowing it down. I definitely want to work with AIDS patients, and was seriously looking at Project Angel Food. Bad news is they're only based in Los Angeles.

Any suggestion for similar organizations based in San Francisco?

I would also love to hear about your volunteering experience in SF.

Check out the website http://www.volunteermatch.org/. My bf just got a job there, and it seems like a great resource!

I volunteer as President and Chair of the Board of my professional association here in San Francisco. We have nearly 2,500 members. I am able to help a number of other not-for-profit and non-governmental organizations here in San Francisco and around the world through my strategic application of my high-value knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques.

Strategic volunteer opportunities can be meaningful, manageable, and extremely fulfilling. They can also enhance your professional development, professional standing, and professional opportunities.

Volunteering, even as a "task volunteer" is a great thing. More people should give something back to their communities. And, volunteering by sharing your highest value talents can make your volunteer contribution as amplified as it can be.

    Aloha and Be Well!
