I dont think the Social Network was all that...solid but not Oscar worthy. Its getting the award for other reasons it seems. Black Swan should but wont win the Oscar for best pic because its too dark and upsetting for voters. I expect Kings Speech to win the Oscar though

Boardwalk Empire was awful, should not have won that award. I love that Katey Sagal was finally recognized for her brilliant work on Sons of Anarchy

I've seen most of the nominated tv shows at one time or another and some I watch regularly. I've never seen Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.

I'm way behind on my movies. I've haven't see any of the nominated films. I'd like to see The Fighter, and others that were only nominated for performances: Blue Valentine, Rabbit Hole, Winter's Bone and 127 Hours,

Winners were alright but their nominations were really bad, come on Angelina and Johnny for The Tourist, Burlesque for Best musical. It looked like they wanted to make a lot of big stars happy so that they would attend the event.

First of all, The Golden Globe Awards are ridiculously stupid. Just by looking at the nominees you can tell how ridiculous this awards show is.

Second of all, I hope to GOD that THE SOCIAL NETWORK does not win best picture because there are FAR better films out there from 2010.

That said, I think they got their acting categories for films right.

I don't even wanna talk about the TV show categories because they always favor the new shiny tv show. Watch, BOARDWALK EMPIRE will not win best drama next year.

Ugh. Not a fan of the Golden Globes. Were it not for Ricky Gervais I'd have had no interest.

Yes, many (not all) of the winners are "new, shiny", not necessarily better. And The Social Network? Come on.

I wish Modern Family won, instead of Glee. I like Glee too, but not as much as Modern Family. But i'm glad Natalie Portman, won best actress. I didn't expect The Social Network to win big.

For best actress, it's between Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman for me. Unforunately, I have a bad feeling about TSN winning best picture or at least adapted screenplay because it is "cool". Don't get me wrong, it's a good film, but it's so pretentious and self aware that it takes me out of it.

Best Actor, I have to go with Collin Firth although James Franco was great as well. So was Jeff Bridges, but I think Collin Firth's performance was outstanding.

Best picture, I have no idea honestly. 2010 was a great year in film, just as good if not better than 2007. I would have to say either BLACK SWAN or THE KING'S SPEECH. I think TRUE GRIT was really good, but it dragged a bit for me. Idk, I'll probably see it again before the Oscars to make up my mind.

I agree, but keep in mind that the Golden Globes usually tend to be slightly more reflective of highlighting movies and entertainment for the masses than does the Academy Awards, although having ten movies up for best picture we will probably from now on be seeing more nominations that do not seem Oscar worthy.

And one other thing- When are they going to give Julianne Moore a damn award? Six nominations for a Golden Globe, four so far for an Oscar, and five SAG nominations and still nothing yet. She is starting to become the Susan Lucci of these awards.

Same thing happened to Kate Winslet. After 6 Academy nominations, she finally won for THE READER.

Am I the only one that thought The Social Network was great? That and Black Swan were the absolutely best movies last year. Glee is the most obnoxious show ever!

I haven't seen all of the Best Pictures nominees (apparently because I live in Australia I should get to see Black Swan about 3 months after the United States....) but Inception is one of the best movies I have EVER seen so I would have liked that to have won.

SHIT was rigged, WTF happened to INCEPTION. Looks like someone performed INCEPTION on the voting committee in the form of payola. <3 Gervais for speaking the truth!

Julianne Moore is my queen! She was robbed by not getting an Oscar nod for A Single Man, and SO should have won for Far From Heaven. I've loved her since her early days as Frannie Hughes on As the World Turns. But that dress . . . a complete train wreck.

There, a fashion reference. I've completely earned my gay card.

I can't believe The Social Network won Best Picture. Black Swan and The King's Speech were much better pictures. And to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with The Social Network; I mean it was good but not the spectacular, critically acclaimed film all of these so-called critics shout and yell that it is.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Barbara Hershey, and to a lesser degree Winona Ryder, wins an award for Best Supporting Actress at The Oscars.

I also love the fact that Ricky Gervais lambasted Hollywood on Sunday night. It's quite funny that the so-called A-List is in an uproar. Boo-hoo-hoo!

Didn't watch but I'll throw in my hat that Glee should have not won best comedy over Modern Family. While entertaining, Glee does not bust my gut like Family and Eric Stonecrest should win the Emmy hands down!!

That is almost the verbatim reply I was going to write. Glad I got to see The King's Speech in time--quite good.
