Def working on results this year. It wont be the best shape of my life. That would have been when i was 31 and just out of the police academy.

I have been snowshoeing every morning this year and trying to carry ove the exercise to the abs. I need shoulder surgery so the weights aren't gonna work for awile ( damn hockey injuries).

    This is the year.......

Anyone north of Chicago wanna snowshoe or kayak???????

I have made some amazing progress these last few weeks. It helps that we're going on the Atlantis cruise in February. That's some serious motivation!

Been doing P90X and a lot of cardio. There are still a few pounds of stubborn belly fat that are fighting for their survival right now. But, they will soon be gone icon_razz.gif

I'm not sure why - maybe because I ate a lot more over the holidays - but I definitely feel stronger the last few weeks. I'm going to try to bulk up a bit over the next couple of months and then try to get a bit leaner, but keep some of the bulk, by summer.

I told myself this was the year that I was going to trim down. I am 25 now and have decided to change some other things why not my weight and everything. May need some kind of accountability though.

I would start going to the gym if I had a boyfriend or a gay buddy to go with...I just have this impression that it's an intimidating atmosphere so that's why I've never dared to even step inside one.

But definitely need to improve on the fitness...haven't done any exercise for like 3 years which is awful!

I always thought it would be intimidating too. One day I just decided that I had enough of what I was looking like and just went and joined a gym and signed up for some personal training. Best thing I ever did and it was not intimidating at all. I have had some health challenges in the past year and have gotten out of shape. My Doctor said that I will probably not have any more restrictions after the end of January. So, I am joining a gym in my new town and will be starting once again the 1st of February and am looking forward to it.

I hate this! Because i went through the same thing! It is very intimidating! I still get intimidated when i see super huge bulky guys at the gym.

What you have to do is just close your mind off to them and the atmosphere and you should be fine.

If you were here in seattle i'd definately go to the gym with you. It's tons of fun! I just do what my trainer shows me and it works for me. He doesn't have me do silly things he's just trying to help bulk me up and get bigger. So far he's managed to tone me up and i feel like im getting bigger but i like the result so far icon_smile.gif

I was the same way. When I started at Lifetime I stayed on the cardio equipment for about 6 months before I braved the free weight section.

over the last month I've actually noticed veins popping even if I'm not lifting weights, so I'm just gonna keep eating my veggies, lean meat whole grains, and keep working out. the pounds aren't melting off, but the fat seems to be!

i stopped caring about how much i weighed and what i 'looked like' and focused more on balance, strength and flexibility and im finding now that all those other things are coming along. i definetly need to work on my diet but im happy with the dedication ive put in the past several months. im running no less than 20 miles a week and doing stuff id never thought id be into like yoga. im not trying to uhh make myself more fuckable or something im legit trying to better myself and that works soooo much better ive found.
